I'm a newbie with no references and currently a law student. Just started this adventure this week, in fact. I have so little time now for my personal life, this just seems easier and less time consuming then the alternative. But...
My first replies from providers were that they found nothing negative, but just not enough to feel comfortable.
I give them any info they ask for, but it just seems to not be enough.
They say to try p411 or the others, which I would love to, but after looking into it, I am not confident that they could verify me since I am a student.
Any hobbyist here who started as students? How about students/former students who got validated by p411? What did they do to verify you?
What you may want to do is what you did for law school application. Did you apply to just one school? My son applied to well over 10 dental schools. He received turndowns, maybies and YES you will get an interview. Sound familiar? His girlfriend got offers from all the schools she interviewed. She is Hot though. But any way my point is this. Keep trying, use the shotgun effect. it didn't take me long to get my 2 references. Since I don't want them hounded, I am going to use a ID checking service in the near future. As a question for providers, if you receive emails from an .edu address, how solid is this to you in general for proving the person contacting you is safe?
I think they would still be skeptical, but then again I never tried it.
Also I'm not sure if my university would appreciate me using their servers for this deed. ha ha
Try to get registered with RS200 or Date check. Maybe get a free email account with yahoo or one of the others so you don't have to use your school account. You'll get your foot in the door. Best of luck.

Date-check will verify you without a reference and we will be able to know that your info was verified but you haven't yet been "approved" by a provider. They have 3 mos trial memberships as well. I am under the impression that P411 will verify you only if you have a provider willing to vouch for you. They are a great service however.
i know im a little late in replying but this was a similar problem that i ran into. i was interning at a facility while i was a student and the provider was more than willing to call me while i was at that facility. this worked out quite well. if that doesnt work, try to get her to verify your status at the school somehow (by calling a dept or something like that). i dont think an email from a .edu account is going to work. theres too many easy ways to get one of those accounts.
