Or did you mean "references?" After you see a lady, you can certainly ask her if you can use her as a reference to give her name to another lady to vouch for you. Almost all will do this for you, provided you were polite, followed her rules, werent creepy, etc.

I have had a few providers tell me that I ought to go see so-and-so, on occasion, but that is rare for obvious reasons.

You should have a very good relationship established first before asking something like that.

She might also want to keep you to herself.  Assuming you're a good client (good hygiene, manners, always on time and leave on time, etc.), why would she want you to spend your money elsewhere when you could be spending your money on her?

Totally not a problem if it's a different city, or if the first provider is out of town during your desired dates, or doesn't provide a service you're looking for, if you need outcall instead of incall, etc., etc.

Different if it's direct "competition" for the lady.  I wouldn't ask a provider for a recommendation to another provider who provides the same service(s) in the same location at the same time.  That's kind of rude.  Sort of like asking a mechanic if he knows any other mechanics in town.
