I have the VIP for here.
I have a pre-paid phone.
I have envelopes ready.
I have providers in mind. (Going indies first)
I have DateCheck approval.

Do I have my ducks in a row and ready to start the email(s)?
Just want to check to make sure I have everything in order since this will be my first time (in both aspects).

Also, an aside question: I plan on going with some of the providers that are approved on DateCheck first since I assume that will be all I need?
Reading about how some of the more experienced hobbyists never give out work and full name information to providers, I too would like to avoid this (although DC never called to verify me, thought that was odd).

I may also would at some point like to try some of the agencies, which would require either their screening (no thanks) or references.  

So, on obtaining references.  
Do I ask in person (assuming at the end) or do I email later?  
Do I have to see that provider several times first?
I realize this will likely be on a case-by-case basis but what is the general protocol on these things?

Don't count on Date Check being all you need. Most will want at least some other informaion or references.

On obtaining references, after your session, provided you've behaved like a gentleman, you can ask the lady if you can use her as a reference. However, you should contact her either before or right after you give  her name to the next escort you will be seeing. Also it's not a bad idea to give the new lady something that will jog the first providers memory of you.  Some providers may want to see you more than once, but you can ask after your first visit. I'm not a fan of agencies, but that's just me, plus I experienced the Phoenix agency blow up, which is a whole other story. Good luck

I'm not going to speak for all ladies, but if you don't have any references, and were not willing to be screened, you wouldn't have a date. As a matter of fact, if you run across a lady that doesn't screen you, you should let the fellas know who she is, and to avoid them. There are lots of guys who does what it takes to get them in the door on sites like Date-check and P411 to take a chance with you, and there are plenty of girls who are worth being screened for.

Screening is the way us ladies keep ourselves from getting busted, and your information safe. If a lady sees someone like you, with no references and not willing to be screened, and you just HAPPENED to be the police that's how a guy's information gets compromised in the first place. I encourage you to change your mind about getting screened. It's relatively painless, and if you have the kind of job where you don't have your own extension, or there would be no feasible excuse to call your work (doctor's appointment, family emergency, etc.) there are other ways.

Well, you still have to check the lady's reviews.  Just because she's Date Check verified just means she's a provider and someone vouched that she's a provider.  You still have to read the reviews on TER (or comparable review site) to make sure you are donating for a level of service you feel is worth it.

You can, but it will be tricky and you will rule out lots of hotties.  But some of us have way too much at stake and this is the only way we can hobby.   Scroll around this board for some very contentious discussions about this - it happens about once a week.

Maybe they didn't connect with you, but they checked with the receptionist or your secretary?

Alternatively, they could be using one of those background checking services instead of calling you directly.  I'm not sure.

I agree with Tiffani completely.  You should be seeing ladies who screen as well as having good reviews.  

I do not see gents without references.  If they don't have references, employer info it must be or not no way, not no how am I loosing everything I have to LE either.  Everybody has something at stake just like you guys do and some of us have even more to loose that a lot of hobbyists do.  

Ladies who don't screen are much more likely to get caught and then who's got your info?  Just in my opinion and NOT from personal experience, LE can and will crack all your safeguards to find out who you are if they want to bad enough.  

They just love to take people's stuff.

If you are DC verified but have no provider OKs... I personally would expect for you to provide me with same screening info as if you were not.

Benefit in seing DC ladies at first is getting few OKs on your DC profile.

I have a few DC approvals (as well as several non-DC references available). I contacted someone on DC that is well reviewed on TER that I've been wanting to see since I started doing this around a year ago.  She still insisted on personal info. But then there was another DC listing of someone with ~15 excellent reviews who agreed to see me without additional personal info. Go figure.

I just started on this, too, but I'd say ask after the appointment (in person) if you can use her as a reference. If you've talked about the fact that you're new, she may already be expecting the question. Again, will depend. As with everything, it's personal preference on the side of the lady.

1) VIP...good move.
2) Pre-paid phone.  Also good, especially if you are married.
3) A box of envelopes costs just a couple of bucks.  Non-issue...
4) Having a number of candidates never hurts.  Going indie...IMO, only way to go.
5) Approval service is a smart idea.

Where I disagree:

A) Not giving out info re: your identity and employment info with highly rated ladies.  Why should they trust you if you refuse to disclose any personal information?  This game is built on trust.  To date, this has never come back to haunt me...then again, I only see top echelon ladies.

B) Agencies.  Avoid if you can.  Do you really want third or fourth parties/organizations involved?

As to obtaining references, you should only ask if you have seen the lady more than once, and you think she will be cool with that.  Agencies are no good at this, but indies will give them, so long as have seen them recently, and they have hope of seeing you again, assuming they want to.

is only the starting point. Date-Check & P411 are both great tools, but just signing up and being verified only means that now you can get referrals from the ladies on the site. Most will still ask for some kind of personal information. As you get more referrals on the verification sites, as well as whitllist referrals on TER, you'll find that it does become easier to get future dates. You've only paid your money. Now you have to pay your dues. We've all had to do it.

I'm a graduate student -- what information do I need to provide since I'm not working.  I've never done this so I have zero references.  I have income from a nest egg that I saved along with scholarship money.  

So how do I get my first appointment?
