I have been working hard to pay off some back taxes after starting up a new business a few years ago and have not hobbied a lot in the past couple of years so I am a little rusty in the way things work and there are many new faces on P411 these days. Is it normal not to hear anything from a provider you made an appointment with until 60 minutes before your scheduled appointment?

How often do you hear from a provider you have a scheduled appointment with if its booked a week out? The last I heard from her it was all set after screening, and now, this morning I am supposed to be there at 10, it is now 847 and I have not heard anything after texting this morning at 8 to ask if we are still on.

If I get stood up I am going to be a little upset

I will contact her a couple of days before our visit to reconfirm and then the day of to confirm how we will communicate when she is ready for my arrival ( call or text). If she doesn't answer either I will send her an email and a pm expressing my assumption the visit is a no go.

So far it has worked just fine - she knows my interest is genuine and I get to satisfy my OCD (lol)

Thanks, I cant say it has never happened to me, but it has not happened often. The reason I am a little upset is she is a well reviewed provider and it seems low class to not text with a cancellation and let it go to a NCNS. I will be posting the NCNS on the regional board. Its just not cool. I am very busy and put other things off to free up my morning today and this is screwing my whole day up.

Yeah that is not cool.  Something I always suggest when setting up a date in advance, if the lady doesnt bring it up, for the guy to ask for a confirmation the day before / at some time the day of the date.

How much contact I have with a date between the time we set it and our final confirmation can range from a lot to nothing at all. But when I confirm a date, I always let the guy know to call me at x time the day of our date for a final confirmation so hes totally aware he will hear from me before our date and when. If the date was set a few weeks or more in advance, then a couple days before the date I will shoot him a reminder email of our date and when to call me.

Then I see it like this..if I dont hear from him by time I asked him to call me, without that final confirmation Ill shoot an email or text if I can, but with no response, I figure our date is off.  If he calls me and I dont pick up or get back to him, it means something has gone horribly horribly wrong and Im in a ditch somewhere lol, Seriously,  Ive yet to miss a confirmation call.

If it's a provider I have seen before and already know where we are going to meet I will confirm the day before and just text them when I arrive the following day.

If it's a provider I have not seen before and lets say set up 3-4 days in advance I will confirm in the morning on the day of the appointment for a PM appointment.  If it happens to be an AM appointment I would confirm it the evening before and then again in the morning.  If it's a provider I have not seen before and lets say set up 1- 2 weeks in advance I will confirm a day or two before and then again the morning of the appointment.  All of my confirmations are done via e-mail or text, whichever the provider prefers.

These methods have worked for me so I'm going to stick with them for now

weekly prior to, then about 48 hours ahead, and maybe day of, depending on the time of the appointment.

If she is someone I have seen before, and has a static incall, I may or may not contact her again.  She knows I will show up and I know she will be there.  If she's in a hotel, either she will contact me by phone or text with the room number or I will contact her for it.

If it's a new-to-me provider, I will probably confirm the day before and follow up on the morning of the appt to get the room number or address.

While getting stood up sucks, it happens to providers and hobbyists all the time.  We just all hope it doesn't happen to us, but sooner or later if one is in this long enough, it will probably happen.
