Re: I lost you after a couple questions but let me try.

I was doing the $50.00 at a time but then found myself out of town when it expired. Now I do the $20.00 directly from an account automatically but they charge an extra .60 fee each month for some reason.

Time to renew VIP. I was planning to get a $50 card ($5 or $6 fee) and add 3 months from the Buy Quarterly button.

If I buy a $100 card (same $5 or $6 activation) or other multiples ...

1. Can I do "Buy Quarterly" twice within 5 minutes or so to add 6 months? (And use up the $100 card so I don't have to worry about losing it.)

2. Since I can't buy cards >$100, is there a way to add together 4 x buy quarterly (50 + 50 + 50 + 50) to get a full year (180) and roll over the extra 20 into an extra month?  Will TER just consider it an overpayment and pocket the extra 20?

3. Is there some other way to pay for annual using 2 more transactions from cards that max out at 100?  If I "Buy Yearly", do the CCBill thing but only pay 100, what error will I get?  Will it say, "thanks for the partial pay of 100, now cough up another 80 from another card"? Will it keep the 100, end the transaction but only give me 6 months?

I hope readers or mods get the idea of what I want to do in the easiest, safest (anon) way.

Thanks.

1. You can always pay by Money Order. Somewhere is an address where to send the MO and TER will add the time to your profile. You have to wait though.

You can send the MO for the monthly $ 20, quarterly $ 50 or annually $ 180. TER will credit your account for VIP days accordingly.

2. CCBill is an independent service contracted for by TER to accept subscriptions for them. TER pays them a commission based on what your subscribe for.

There is NO OPTION through CCBill to split payments and roll the dollars over because the software is not configured that way. You either pay $ 20, $ 50 or $ 180 and get corresponding credits.

3. Another option is GreenDot re-loadable credit card which allows you to load more than $ 100. Keep in mind the fees you pay are much higher and they request more personal info to register and confirm you to use the reload service. This is not nearly as anonymous as the regular non re-loadable card.

4. I have heard some guys ask providers to get the membership for them. If there is a provider you trust, see if you can reload her GreenDot or give her cash and let her get the VIP for you. As long as she uses your VIP Number and TER handle, you will receive credit. CCBill is independent of TER, so no worries about getting banned.

5. You should have no issues running a $ 50 charge through CCBill within five minutes or every so often. Once TER is forwarded the info, they will simply add the additional time (90 days) to your existing VIP days that you already have.

6. Make sure you register the gift card that you purchase before using with CCBill otherwise they will reject it. Most cards have a website listed to go and register.

When registering:

a. Use a fake name

b. Use a fake but valid address with corresponding zip code preferably from a different city or state. I usually use foreclosed house addresses. Use a phone book, white pages or the numerous online directories.

c. If you are asked for phone number or email confirmation address; use your hobby phone number, another fake number, your hobby email or another fake email but never your everyday real stuff.

d. Wait several minutes after registration then try using CCBill. Once they run the AVS and Zip verification, you should be set.

Thanks for the advice. Since this is only my 2nd payment (been VIP for only 3 months), I just did another 50.

I used a non-reloadable Visa Gift Card from www gift2go dot NET, not com. Registered the card with them online, it SAID it was activated with a balance of 50. I tried to pay TER via CCbill but got rejected in several tries. Called the 800 number and it said to wait an hour for activation.

After a couple of hours, it worked. Whew.

I guess it treats on-line payments different from in-store payments. Anyway, I'm good for another 3 mos.

Thanks.

I was doing the $50.00 at a time but then found myself out of town when it expired. Now I do the $20.00 directly from an account automatically but they charge an extra .60 fee each month for some reason.

With pretty much every cc transaction that crosses international borders, the bank, cc processors and card companies will sock both the customer and the merchant with a 3% foreign transaction fee.

It is an easy 6% for them to split. You don't have to cross an international border for these fees to be charged to you anymore.

When you have a gift card with a fixed $ 50 amount and a charge of $ 50, the money runs out. After the original transaction the bank tries to run the other 3% on the gift card but it comes back declined. I am sure it pisses the bank off but such is life.

As with a regular cc, debit card or checking account; the bank can still run and add the foreign transaction fee on there even if you go above your limit.

Another Thanks! for the heads up about the transaction fee. I was going to get the 100 card, pay 50 and then another 50 five minutes later to use it up. I would have paid 50, lost 3% and been left scratching my head and without enough for the 2nd quarterly payment and embarrassing balance to try to spend someplace else.

I suppose I could try
50 (3 mo) + 1.50 fee
20 (1 mo) + 0.60
20 (1 mo) + 0.60
----------------------
90 (5 mo) + 2.70 fees
----------------------
$7.30 balance to carry around and spend anonymously someplace or throw away.

I think I'll just stick to the 50 dollar cards.

I love the part about using a foreclosed house address as the fake address.

(It's a lot classier and less sinister than the fake addresses I pick. - LOL)
