Most agencies will accept what you have. Some might ask for personal information and that is up to you whether you feel comfortable in giving that up.

Hey everyone. Maybe the ladies can help me out with this. I have only seen two providers so far (both reviewed on this site by me) and I don't hobby that often. And I have only seen each of these two providers once. I saw one back in January and the other at the end of March. Both of the providers are known and well reviewed, one independent and one from an agency.
Here's my concern. Generally speaking, most providers ask for two references. Fine, I have that. But because so much time has lapsed since the two visits, they probably won't remember me. Is this going to be a problem? One of the providers is a touring provider and the other is notoriously hard to get a hold of. So I'm nervous about waiting to get approval from a new provider as she attempts to track them down. However, I am P411 certified with one provider okay (I booked the independent provider through P411).
So if I call an agency today and try to book with this info, would it be a problem?
Thanks everyone.

You should probably touch base with the girl who didn't give you an ok on P411 and jog her memory and let her know you'd like to use her as a reference. Usually providing a date/city you saw her, plus your email addy will be sufficient info for her to remember you. If you already have an OK from a provider on P411, that plus the other reference will likely be ok for most ladies who require 2 provider refs. Good luck!

Some provides say up to a year. For me, I think 6 months, unless I know them fairly well. I always contact them first to remind them how & when we met ando give them a heads up as a courteousy.

References from agencies and indies are somewhat different. From an agency, an indie gal doesn't get to talk to the lady you saw. She only knows the girl did not complain about you to the owner or scheduler.

Good agencies will generally give & accept referrals from each other.

Of course all this varies from one agency of indie to another, and how various agencies and indies interact. A well or poorly respected agency or indie will carry different weight.

You can give it a shot, the P411 will help, especially in your area of the country.  Don't worry about a few months passing, most providers look for references from someone you've seen with the past year.  So far as remembering you...the cynical side of me says that's dependent on how memorable you were!  In all seriousness, I have listed providers who I haven't seen in 4-6 months and there weren't any problems.

Offering the provider references shows that you aren't afraid to be checked out, you may need to also provide other verification so even if they don't respond or remember it doesn't mean you're dead in the water.

to let them know that you would like to use them as a reference. Refer to where and when you saw them. If they are professional, well reviewed providers they should respond kindly and be willing to give you a reference.
