I'm not one to bother with hobby cards (or hobby phones) but if you are determined to do it then make it a debit card. This will not show up on your credit report. Be sure to find a bank that will do on-line statements so that nothing gets mailed to your house. All of that being said, I managed to hobby through 20 years of marriage with no extra bank accounts or phones.  There is no substitute for just being careful. If you lull yourself into a false sense of security that is exactly when you will get caught!

Hi,

If I want local outcall, how do I rent a hotel room discreetly? Do I book with a credit card and pay cash on check out? Are there certain types of hotels/motels that cater to hobbyists? What should I look for in a hotel/motel?

Most reputable hotels only allow you to book with a credit card.  So if you are married, you need to get a hobby credit/debit card so ypu can book outcall .

To your second question, yes but most reputable provider do not go near them mor do most hobbyist

Is a bad idea simply because it will show up on your credit report.   She will see this card that she does not know about, and will investigate it.

It is not a good idea.

When you get a room, I would suggest a hotel in a safe, well-traveled area. Blend in with the other guests and act like you belong there. Don't do anything to draw attention to yourself.

Nothing screams:  "I'm hear to have a quickie and then I'm out of here." louder than checking in without a bag.

It's nice to shower afterwards anyways and have your own toiletries and a change of underwear.

I've picked up a couple rooms just using cash. A cash deposit is also needed if you do this.

They will still want a photo ID at the desk, but as long as you are cashed out when you leave, no problem. Don't give them your home phone. Give them a bogus mailing address if you want (I tell them my ID address is not a mailing address).

Both times I told them I was just driving thru and just needed to take a shower and a nap for a couple hours and would probably be checking out early. Didn't seem to raise any red flags.

YMMV

If you want to pay cash for the room, make sure that you mention this when you check in. Many hotels automatically charge the credit card that was used to make the reservation at the time that the reservation is no longer cancelable. This time is usually mentioned in the confirmation message when you book online.

I reserved the room with a cc and paid cash when checking out the next day or later that day.

Sometimes I'll check in mid-day and tell them I have work to do but will be leaving around 5 pm to catch a plane.  For this, I'll bring a laptop and a small bag with my toiletries.  I want to be fresh for my date.

Most places you can simply leave a drivers license at the desk.   Tell them you want to pay cash when you check in.   Worst case scenario, they'll take an imprint of your credit card and then you pay cash upon check out.

In terms of concerns, I know a woman who manages a hotel which is part of a chain.   She says that she can easily spot people who are there for quickies (they pay cash, surprise!!).   On the other hand, she doesn't really care.   Money in the door is good for them as long as it doesn't cause problems.   Just be courteous, kind, neat, don't destroy the room or annoy other guests.

Exactly, for the most part, "as long as it does not cause problems"! Inn keepers want our money, and as long as they get our money and we cause them no problems, it is simple buisness. No quetions asked.

I have used their secure one time use card on their website , Then let them swipe my regular card when I checked in(and as long as I didn't steal a robe or trash the place it never showed up on my bill)and paid cash when I checked out of a big chain hotel.  Maybe I have just been lucky that nothing showed up on my bill.  I will have to go paperless with my bank if I'm going to keep hobbying.  Hope that helps

When I do incall, I use visa/mc gift cards.  Pick them up almost anywhere works the same as a regular cc.

Thanks - I will use a gift card.  What are "best practices" for the driver's license/photo ID?  I don't want my name in their database.

I have only had outcalls to rooms I was occupying when traveling.
I have met ladies who rented the room once I had arrived.  I really prefer it.

Remember to be the last one out if you rent the room.  If you leave her in possesion of the room lots of bad things can happen.
Addition room charges moght be billed to you.  Room service, damages, mini-bar.
She could have later guests...  what if she gets busted in your room?
