Sweetie, ask your doctor.   See a dermatologist.  I love the boards and they are a great resource but medical questions should be answered by professionals in my humble opinion

I'm not exactly a newbie, but I've recently had a scare and would like some information.

Two weeks ago I met up with someone. She was well reviewed here, etc. The encounter basically consisted of bbbj, FS, and then a massage. For the massage, I was on my stomach, and i can't remember if she sat on me or next to me.

So fast forward 14 day. Now I have a "rash" in several places. All on one leg, starting at my upper calf, two areas on my thigh, and at the groin area. All are about an inch in size, with 2-3 small welts kind of around hair follicles. I've looked at pics on the web of herpes outbreaks, and while they don't look exactly like those, this is only the 2nd day since i've noticed them.

Before you say it...yes, i went to see a doc. he took a swab of an area to test for herpes. Said it looked a little like herpes, though the locations all the way down one leg to my calf are not typical. In the meantime I'm waiting for the results.

So my question...how likely would it be to get herpes from a bbbj and massage (someone sitting on my rear)? I don't have any indication on my privates at the moment....

worried...

have you ever had any allergies.  Could be hives.  Stress induces hives and it may look alot like what you have. I would go to a dermatologist and have that type of doc take a look.  It may not be associated with your encounter.

I once showed my (ex) urologist an odd bump on my penis and he promptly declared it herpes.  He did draw blood for a test, but was convinced, and convincing.  The blood test came back inconclusive.

Thank God I went to a dermatologist.  One look and she immediately said it wasn't herpes but something else entirely.  She did another blood test as well a culture to be certain and both were negative for herpes.

While my feeling is that herpes in the situation you describe is very unlikely, you cannot trust a web forum to diagnose this, even one run by a doctor.  You need to see someone in person who specializes in this type of issue.

A similar thing happened to me years ago after I had sex with a new girlfriend. I was scared and went to the doctor. He said it was a fungus infection and it often happens with a a new sex partner. he gave me some pills and it went away. Get a second opinion. I don't think you have herpes.

It might be a good idea if you have allergies and are planning on a massage to discuss it with a provider.Botanical massage oils may cause irritation if you are allergic to the ingredients.

if herpes was contracted thru bbbj....? Because it can be in the mouth also. Hmmmm?

It could be impetigo, which is very common in kids, but adults get it also. It will spread to other parts of the body. I'd go to another doctor.

it can take up to 10 weeks for an outbreak of herpes to show up. Even if tested it may not show. The Lady you saw 2 weeks ago may not be the one IF herpes is what you have actually. The gal you saw up to 10 weeks ago could have been your problem.
Do you get tested regularly?  Herpes can be dorment in your nervous system for ages. Many people have silent outbreaks  and can shed the virus regularly while being unaware of it.
The only way to know when you contracted it really If this is what you actually have is if you are one who tests regularly.
The first outbreak often starts with flu like symtoms.  Test regularly!

Thanks for your reply Nicole.

The lady that I saw 2 weeks ago was the first person I've been with several months. So if it is a STD, it was her.

I've never tested for STDs before. I've read about the symptoms for herpes, including the flu-like symptom for the first breakout, and I don't have anythink like that.

However it could be shingles (cause by a herpes virus that causes chickenpox) and has a similar rash blister appearance as genital and oral herpes.  The chickenpox herpes virus like other herpes virus is never eliminated but remains dormant.  The chicken pox virus can become active when disease, stress, or aging weakens the immune system.

rereading your post I did not see where you stated you got the blood test at the drs to determine if its Herpes or not. It might be, maybe is, ect is not a for certain diagnosis. go get the blood test, sounds to me like you don't test regularly.
Herpes is found with a blood test not a swab.  Are we just guessing here? There is no way to say for sure where you got this if you do not test regularly.
before you go and point the finger with a "might be/ maybe is"  if you do not test regularly you could have had this a very long time.
Until you are clear it is Not herpes you should not play here.

The regular doc just took a swab for a culture. I was reading about the blood test last night and just got back from having it done. Results in 2-3 days. They also said the test will be able to tell if it's a recent infection if it did indeed turn out to be herpes.

So yes, at this point I am just guessing and quite nervous about the whole thing. I've not pointed fingers at anyone. The only question that I originally posted was "how likely would it be to contract HSV2 from a bbbj and a massage?" and would still like to hear other opinions as I await an answer...

Not true.  Swabs of suspected herpes sores/blisters for viral culture and/or for herpes virus antigen detection test are most often done to detect and diagnose shedding herpes virus. Blood test are usually done to detect asymptomatic infections.
