Newbie Ques?....thinking about seeing a provider w/15+ decent reviews, but has rip-off alerts online

Hey everyone,

I'm a newbie and I would like to thank everyone in advance for your response to my post.  I'll take any advice I can get from the vet's.  I'm thinking about seeing a provider with 15+ decent reviews on TER, even a few new reviews as recent as Nov and Dec.  This will be my 2nd time with a provider, if I decide to see her.  But when I google her phone number there are rip-off hits which say to avoid her, results which say she is working with LE, and one that says she has infections.  That is really contradicting...she also posts quite actively on BP.  However, she has her own personal website as well.  I already made an appointment with her for early next week after it took about a day for her to screen me.  But after I did a little more research, I'm not sure what I should do.  Thanks!

Take a look at the posts which accuse her of being a rip-off/LE/STD.  Where were they posted and how recent?  Are they on a legitimate review site?  If they were on BP it could have been posted by a competitor.  Can you find any information about the person who made the warning posts?  Do they have any other review type posts anywhere?  Can you contact the person who made the warnings?

Check her most recent reviews here.  Were they made by reviewers who have a good track record (multiple reviews) or were they made by first timers?  PM those who reviewed here for further information or at least confirmation she is still safe.  If you don't have VIP status yet, spend a little money for at least a months worth.  It might save you big money on legal or medical fees later.

No one is going to be able to tell you what to do based on the information you provided.  Dig deep with the information you have.  Become an internet researcher.  If there are ANY doubts cancel or reschedule the appointment to give yourself time to do a LOT more research.  Your safety is in your hands.

Gut feeling.  If she has good reviews by experienced reviewers on TER for Nov and Dec, I wouldn't be too worried.  Like I said.  Just my gut feeling without seeing any other info.

He made some really great points. The only thing I can add is, well, since she does post regularly on BP, some providers may post fake ads about her. It can either be from a client that had a bad experience, another provider, a "pimp", there can be numerous reasons.

I see those kinds of ads daily in BP. Some are false accusations informing other hobbyist to stay away because they know for certain that she has HIV, use drugs such as heroine, or stay away because she rip me off, or don't waste your money because the pics are fake and the service was terrible, I've seen others.

I just wanted to add those things in. Sphinxnc gave some really great advice though, and I couldn't said it any better.

As far as the BP warnings are concerned, many times you can chalk them to her competition or a pimp, but never discount them entirely.
It is clear that you are doing your research, so now it is up to your gut feeling and whether or not you are going to be comfortable going through with the appointment. If you are going to be looking over your shoulder and are overly nervous, skip her and move on to the next provider.

On the other hand, there's a lot of red flags on the surface.  Maybe she's like a roller coaster with cycles of ups and downs.  That's a possibility, too.

You might consider postponing your visit with her for the time being so you have plenty of time to do further research instead of trying to beat a deadline since you are slated to meet her early next week.  If you reach out to others for questions, you may need extra time to hear back from them, if they even bother to reply.

In the mean time, go with someone else who doesn't have any questions being raised about her.
