stds from providers other than hiv

Ok Im sure this has been covered but I cant find anything.  If I cover up, for penetration and bj, I know the risk of hiv is almost none.  Its some of the other stds I am concerned about like hpv(spread just by  genital skin contact), siphylis, gohnorea.  Other than getting caught by le, the last thing I want to do is pass along some nasty std to my SO.  Any advice/suggestions, etc...  Is there a tactful way to ask a provider if they have anything? (I know even if they are checked every month, they could have just got something)

Keep in mind any woman irresponsible enough to work when knowingly infected with any kind of STD is going to be irresponsible enough to lie about it as well.

Asking a woman if she has an STD is like asking if she is a cop, by the time you find out for sure, it's much too late to do anything about it.

They do exist, but are a lot less interesting.

If the worry is too much for you, then this hobby is just not your thing.

As GaGambler said, if someone is unscrupulous enough to provide while knowingly having an std, they will also lie about it.

There are basically four possibile outcomes if you ask a provider if she has any stds.
1) A provider knows she is clean and answers "no" honestly.
2) She has no idea because she hasn't been tested and answers "no" (basically guessing or assuming).
3) She knows she has an std and answers "no" dishonestly.
4) she is offended that you would even ask that question.

She giving you the once over and asking you if you have any of the following....blah blah blah. And then acting like you are a petri dish full of dengue fever.

A clue, if you feel hookers are diseased then you are in the wrong hobby.

I get that you want to be careful but unless you want to have no uncovered body contact, and that can be arranged as in a FBSM where she manipulates your johnson with a gloved hand and you do not touch her. There, issue solved.

there is nothing that anyone can tell you that will reduce your anxiety. You have to work that out for yourself.

You already know that if you have sex, protected or not, the risk is greater than zero. The more protection you use, the lower the risk (for the most part). You can stop at a condom, but what about DATY? Add a dental dam to lower risk. What about FIV? Add finger cots, or better yet latex exam gloves. Skin contact? Full latex body suit. Just don't rub your eyes, better add safety goggles. Oh no, we still have kissing to deal with! You get the idea here, right?

You have to draw your own line between absolute safety and enjoying the touch of another human being, between being anxiety-ridden and finding an personally-acceptable level of risk.

But I must say if you haven't done all the research to make yourself feel safe you will drive yourself nuts...DO you have this anxiety with a girl you meet at a bar? Truthfully women you pick are not always as careful as providers..Studies have show providers to carry less STD because they are more careful because they don't want to have health issues (junkies exclude). Watch porn its easier and safer.

every provider I've met claimed she's clean yet I caught something called NGU. got rid of that easily years ago with antibiotics. I tested clean every time since then 2009,  but keep in mind that these std  tests do not test  conceivable std by any means even full panel tests.

hiv is difficult to get unless you're barebacking,

hpv you can get vaccines but you're gonna have to convince your doctor that you're a high risk,  and be open about your hobbies lol cuz they normally only give it to teenagers and under 26.

hep a/ hep b,  get these vaccines ASAP.

hep c  there's a vaccine coming out in a year or so.

herpes 1 80‰ of the population has this (cold sores)

herpes 2  look up online how you get these I can't remember off the top of my head but it seemed low risk considering providers with an outbreak won't be working during the outbreak.

chlamydia syphilis gonorrhea trichomoniasis,  I've never gotten these and not very worried since a provider won't be working during infection,  and easily cured.

there are many others that are not  tested on any standard full panel tests,  most of the other STDs are not serious threats mostly annoying. but considering the mutating nature,  the only thing that I'm concerned about is something totally new that noone knows a bout. at least with stuff like hiv hpv hep c they know what it is and can test / treat them but with something brand new,  we are shit out of luck and all we can do is suffer til we croak.  lol

I think all the advice above is good - though we do tend to be a bit rude to people about this.  Don't worry - it is very appropriate to worry about stds.

There are five things you should to to minimize your risk.
1.  Use condoms appropriately and vigilantly.  If you use them for oral then it reduces the risk of some non-lethal and/or (mostly) curable stds.  But using them for vaginal and anal sex is the only way (other than abstinence or a known monogamous partner) of being confident of not getting HIV.  Note that there are no reliably recorded instances of oral HIV transmission, so there appears to be nothing you can get from BBBJ that is incurable that will kill you.  Herpes is the big one here to worry about.

2.  Get vaccinated for what you can.  The folks in this thread have given advice and I will not reiterate.

3.  Get tested regularly.  There are plenty of clinics that will do it no questions asked and free if you need.  Do it.  It will make you feel better.  Also good to support these clinics.

4.  Avoid unprotected sex with your partner at times of higher risk.  Ie wait for some time after a session before sex with your girl.  If anything weird happens with your dingaling then use the headache excuse.  If a condom breaks then don't have sex until the all clear from your doc.

5.  If a condom breaks or similar, take evasive action.  See a doctor and say you had a potential exposure and explain precisely how.  The risk is actually very low (HIV happens to be v hard to catch), but not negligible.  Ideally see an std doctor who works with sex workers and infected patients.  These people exist in every city and tend to be very knowledgable, understanding and vigilant.

Play safe always.  High end providers are not any better, than more affordable providers.  I know a client who just got the clap & he only plays once a month at the rate of $500+!  Having an SO means playing smart everytime & do not trust a provider to tell you the truth.  Look at the std statistic & realize the facts is it worth bringing home an std to your SO?  I rarely hobby, but when I do I get tested after each client that is just me because I also have an SO.  Reduce your risks by not engaging in uncovered activities.

Just pay attention to the news for a week or two. Note the number of times that there are possible transmissions from food and food workers. people are people in whatever job they do. some very vigilant, some reckless, most in the middle. MP, your point is well taken and all should be tested regularly. I have lived through the beginning of the HIV epidemic and it is beginning to look like a cure, but not a vaccine, is on the near horizon. but until then, "Trucker, Tarp That Load"

be safe and have fun,
or
be fun and be safe

Noob question here, but is it possible to catch the clap, gon, syph, tric, herpes 2, hep a/b/c or anything else besides herpes 1/mono from kissing/DFK? I've read that saliva can't transmit them or that it's rare, but I've also heard stories that it has happened. Not sure which is scientifically accurate or possible.
