original poster here. I agree with both responses, and realize you would get no real protection. My original question is more along the lines of what a provider might be expecting to see (or not see) or have happen or not have happen. I just wouldn't want to scare someone off by doing or not doing the wrong thing.
There is some belief that LE will not allow an escort to touch his crotch, or vice versa if the client touches her crotch, it means that they can not be LE.
LE is at liberty to do just about anything to make a collar up to and including FS; and they do!
The only smart way to avoid LE is to see well reviewed providers, and for providers to carefully screen their prospective clients.

.... are uh supposed a cop won't touch you at all or let you touch them but lol i've seen stings where in case the lady was the cop and she let the guy not only touch on her but let him touch on her bare breats. Or another case where the cop posing as a client showed the girl his penis. So the supposed LE check is useless and stupid. Best LE check is screening or looking for reviews.
As others note, it isn't anything that really protects client or provider so I've just come to think of it as a euphemism (or abbreviation) for some particular pre-game activities. There was a whole sentence full of euphemisms! Throw in "hobby", too.
Typical LE Check is some kind of pre-announced genital touching, which could even be as much as a quick lick or suck of an exposed appendage. There I go again ... appendage = penis.
Honestly, in the past a lot of misinformation was out there and many people (ladies and gents alike) bought into it:
* LE cannot undress in your presence. * LE cannot touch their privates in your presence. * If you ask them if they are LE, they HAVE TO TELL YOU! I can see this working when an officer goes undercover to catch drug dealers. NOT. And it does not work here. * if LE asks you to do something, that's solicitation and they are guilty of entrapment because you did not offer. Hmm. Can you say absolutely ridiculous. Again using the drug dealer scenario, don't you think they try to purchase from the dealer?
There are other examples. I just can't think of them now.
