i know what agency and independent mean.  but what is a "driver"

Its a club used in golf to hit the little white ball closer to the tiny little hole in the ground.  

No seriously, some women are driven to outcall appointments by a man - pimp, BF, friend, etc - for their safety.

Some gals never heard of a "Thomas Guide" nor could they read it if they had.

Dude, which part of *Some* gals did you miss? It wasn't a general indictment. Geez, tone down the sensitivity.

With some of the larger agencies they actually have paid drivers, not necessarily a pimp or boyfriend. Drivers usually take the lady to the outcall and wait around a few blocks away til she is finished, and is closeby if there is a problem.

When I used to tour (*I am no longer accepting new clients nor do I visit strange cities*)

But-......when I used to tour, I utilized a car service in the city that I was visiting.

The "driver" was the gentleman who owned or worked for the car service. He was familiar with the area and also was aware of the fact that I was traveling alone.

I've never entrusted a driver to anything more than taking me from location A to location B.
My safety was never his responsibility nor was it his job to act as my safety deposit box for any cash I might have in my possession.

Before ASSuME-ing anything other than what is considered common knowledge I'd encourage new
hobbyists to do the same as "thejudge2"  and just ask. Some of the ASSuME-ing that is made does
just that: makes an ASS out of you and me.

As for the hostility and the negativity expressed in portions of this thread, I'd suggest a few of the posters start to seriously think about utilizing the information available on this site and get laid!!

Your comments lead an individual to believe you may have some anger or penned up stress.

The hobby is about having fun and enjoying something that is out of your normal routine, try to enjoy it.... it's about fun.  kisses...~T

Newbies, most established providers are educated and would have no problem using a "Thomas Guide"..... but most have a lap top that they travel with and have access to mapquest as well as other sites on the web that offer advise and suggestions when traveling and visiting new cities.

The fact is, when a provider visits a city she doesn't usually want to take the excessive time to get acquainted with the directions and she wouldn't want to rent a car and drive to any outcalls, so she uses a service with a driver.

I've also used a car service, with a driver, in my hometown because I want the hobbyist to have my undivided attention. So, I have a driver cater to me & my date ...allowing us to enjoy each other and make the full use of his time with me.

Established providers have been known in the past to do their own marketing, maintain their incall in their hometown as well as handle all of their own travel plans,keep their appointments organized and manage their time effectively. There are a number of talents & skills a provider would need to hone or she wouldn't last long in the business.

Your statement was not only degrading but also ignorant.

It might come as a newsflash to some who haven't been exposed to established providers, but most providers actually juggle two entirely different walks of life. In addition to overseeing a small business (*with everything that is demanded of that*) Providers also maintain a secondary role in mainstream business or in Corporate America. There are literally hundreds of providers that have used the hobby not only as an avenue to achieve goals they might not have been able to otherwise, but also as a spring board to move on to very successful ventures outside of this business.

The old stereotype of hookers and streetwalkers is something of a by-gone era. This isn't your daddy's hobby, so welcome to the new age! (*I've even heard of women who achieve professional degrees, accomplish post graduate studies and form their own private corporations*)  

Perhaps you aren't verse enough in utilizing the information available on this site.  Or maybe you are just challenged at accessing the information available to you..... those are the only possible reasons I would guess that you have the impression of providers that you do.

Enjoy the hobby and try to have an orgasm every now and then.... it will definitely change your outlook on life. You might even start looking for the positive in women as opposed to trying to find degrading impressions.  Aloha ~Tori

 It is good to see you here again Tori. Your eloquence and insight have been sorely missed(even though your humorless, oversensitive umbrage in this issue are noted).

Though you admirably represent the most sapient and respected of provider genres available; let us not deny that the antithesis also resides within the profession.
 

Prior to the advent of TER and other sources of information, some clever ladies developed a way to put the odds further in their favor.  They would show up at your door escorted by a big guy, her driver.

Once business was taken care of, she would step out to give the money to the driver.  Of course this always left you in doubt whether she'd come back.

In some cases the driver would be standing at the door waiting for the handoff.  You could never be sure if he would be there throughout the session.

This practice is used by both agencies and indies,
but not nearly as much as it once was.  Today the escort/driver relationship is mostly like Tori described.
