I don't know what exactly constitutes a newbie, but I still feel like one.
Anyway, last week I contacted two well-reviewed providers for appointments, one this week and one in December. I gave them references from well-reviewed providers who shouldn't have anything bad to say, but I never know for sure. I haven't heard a word from either one. I've never been ignored by a provider, and never been turned down. I'm trying to figure out what the problem is. Is there any way at all to find out if one of my references is saying something bad? I know the answer to the question, but have to ask anyway.
I know sometimes my notifications get threaded in with other notifications and I don't see them. If you sent them a request through their website, try emailing them directly. Good luck!

Also email the provider you gave as a reference (You did clear it with her, didn't you?) and see if she has heard from either of the two gals.
Report back your findings, and we'll take it from there.
Two of the three references I gave replied and said that provider #1 had contacted them. The third reference was my former ATF, who is terrible at communication. She didn't reply to let me know if she had been contacted. Hell, she hasn't replied to my request for an appointment next month.
I haven't heard a peep from provider #2, whose website form I filled out and submitted on Thursday. I just sent an email asking if she had received the form.
Provider #1 is going to be in town this Friday. It's getting late.
I've now given provider #1 five references from reputable providers. I know that she has made contact with at least three. The last email I received from her was around noon today, saying she thinks we'll be able to meet, but she's just making sure on the references.
We can meet tomorrow, Thursday or Friday. Those are the days she's in town. It would be difficult for me to do tomorrow, as I'd have to grab some things and drive two hours to her touring city. For me, even a two day notice is short.
I emailed provider #2 to see if she got my website submission. I got an automated reply and nothing else.
Either this business is filled with flakes, or I just seem to be picking the flakes.
mrfisher, one I received an autoreply from, but nothing else. The appointment request form didn't leave any room for me to screw anything up, so my guess is that I'm simply too old for her.
The other one you read about in the long thread in General. Friendly emails all week, then abrupt "our schedules don't work", then email saying I'm fine, then nothing.
I'm back to searching for another new provider to see.
