Without real world contact info. however there can be no truly effective screening of clients.
Some guys have references with providers who know them only by the "hobby names". If you want to roll the dice with them that's your business but keep in mind that the gals who gave these guys references obviously doesn't screen.
At a minimum you need real names, phone numbers and verifiable work info to effectively screen someone.
Hi, I greatly need to improve my screening/ verification process. I was just sent my very first email with "references". I wanted to call the numbers but I was unsure what to say or ask? Moreover, I didn't know the gentleman's name. I only had his email address. In addition, one of the references was to an agency. I'm on tour now so I really need to get this system down ASAP. What do I say? What info should I ask of the hobbyist and his respective providers? I guess I need to research the references first? Any input will be greatly appreciated! Update on speficic guy: I asked him for full name and then call the agency. They asked for his cell. Then they veriified him. Had a meeting with him and yet another great date.
But for the verification... What all should I ask of references?
I'm hesitant to answer for the ladies but a lot of it seems obvious. Think about what you would want to know. Is he timely? Did he put the donation out in plain sight without you having to ask for it? Is he clean? Polite? Did he leave on time or did he over-stay his welcome? Is he clean? Is he too rough? Was the envelope correct?
