I have nine posts sitting in the queue. That's a new record for me. This post makes 10! Yay! They care, they really care. LOL.
And until a couple days ago I didn't even know that user's were selectively moderated. What a fine distinction. Truly an honor.
It USED to be that all new members were automatically moderated when posting to the boards. After a period of demonstrating responsible posting behavior on the boards, automatic (100%) moderation can be lifted. It doesn't always happen automatically but a polite nudge to TER Admin via "Contact Us" can ask for a status update or can ask to be removed from automatic moderation.
.
In addition to automatic moderation, there is random moderation which can happen to anyone's posts at any time. At this time, many UNmoderated members are noting that many of their posts are being randomly moderated. I will estimate that 50% of my posts are moderated these days.
.
The TIME delay before release of a post from moderation to be posted varies a lot. It seems to depend on human intervention which means TER staffing. There might be unstaffed or understaffed shifts at TER HQ resulting in long delays and backlogs.
.
Once in a while, I see a moderated post of mine get released in just a few minutes. I attributed that to the luck of the draw and that the TER Moderator on duty woke up from his nap to go to the bathroom or smoke another joint.
.
Sometimes the delays can be as long as 12 hours or longer. Frustrating.
I hope you're right because it's annoying.
What I can't understand is why, when they clear, I see responses that are timestamped during the time that I couldn't see them in the forum. I first noticed that before I even began my critique. Remember the case you tried helping me resolve where I responded to a post, it went into TER purgatory, and when it finally was posted it was timestamped EARLIER than the post I replied to?
TER gone bad. LOL.
For future reference ...

1. Go to MyTER (link at very top left of any page)
.
2. Find "My Board Posts" ...
2a. Left side column under "My Quick Links" or
2b. "My Board Posts" from the row of tabs at the top of the page:
My Reviews, My Favorites, My Saved Searches, ... or it might be hidden under the More drop down if your browser window is too narrow.
.
3. In the "Status" column, the most common labels are "Active" = posted and "New" = not yet posted = still in moderation. If a post is rejected or deleted, its status is "Not Allowed."
.
You can click on the New post. Then, under Actions, select "Edit Message" and then "Post Message" again. The 4-hour rule still applies. If the post has been in moderation for 4+ hours, it's still New but it can no longer be edited. It almost always goes back to your list of My Board Posts as New. However, it also lets you skip steps using the "Back to Message" link (w/o the "My Board Posts" step) if you need to make more edits.

Wash, rinse, repeat as necessary.
