Considering changing my contact email from @gmail.com to @protonmail.com. Does that mess up my history or references? Assume everything to the left of the @ stays the same...
I changed to ProtonMail a year or so ago and had no issues updating either my P411 or my TER account. You will need to let those who have your old email know, that is, if you want to keep in touch with them.

Changing your email won't affect your membership. Your p411 handle stays the same. It won't make a difference to any provider you contact through p411.
It will only make a difference to providers you have seen in the past who know you by email. To those you should send a note telling them you changed your email address.
