I'm farily new to the hobby less that a year, but I'm 46 years old. Am I considered old in the hobby world? And how do younger providers view me?

Statistically, you're probably a little younger than the average, but not to the point of problems.  Most younger ladies will see you as the pot of gold.

I know many get upset when I say this, but much as guys would like it to be different, this is a business and as long as we take care of our business and treat a lady right, we are good clients...period.

A good provider will view you as a client in good standing that she wants to keep happy so you will return to patronize her business.

A bad provider will do what bad providers do, try and get as much money as possible from you for as little service as possible.  This is why you also need to be a smart client.

Smart clients read TER and see well reviewed ladies.  Ladies who run their businesses in a professional and efficient manner.  Ladies who will treat ALL of their clients regardless of age with the respect and service that a good client deserves.

Quit worrying about age and concentrate on being a good client and seeing good providers.

I can't imagine you would have a problem as a majority of hobbiest are 50+.  (not a scientific study, lol)

Your young by most standards.

Good luck and happy hobbying.

I'm 58 and have never had a provider open the door, look at me and scream, "Run, run for you lives."! Conduct yourself lke a gentleman, be respectful, courteous and treat every provider like a lady. Your age will never be an issue unless you choose to make it so.

There are many providers who prefer the company of "older" gentlemen and even have age minimums.  I have clients who are 20 years older than you are...

As a provider, I would have a problem with someone who is 26, not 46 :)

40's thus far, with the exception of a couple in their 50's and older. I prefer "older" gentlemen. I feel they have a better idea of what they want in life and just have a different temperament or character than guys under 30 (no offense to younger men). So, don't worry about age and just have a good time! (Hygiene is much more important to me ;)  ;)

had to relay my fav Mencken quote there Mr. Fisher, even if it doesn't apply to this thread, or even board, but is pertinent at this time.

"Democracy is the worship of jackals by jackasses."

That one is my favorite of many by him over his lifetime.

My youngest client is 20, my most mature client is 78..... and I enjoy the company of every age in between! Variety is the spice of life ;-)

It's intriguing to me that you feel older gentlemen have a better idea of what they want in life - my perception is closer to the idea that older gentlemen are simply at the point where they can accept what they do have and abandon the idea of having anything radically different.

I do not mean this as an indictment of older gentlemen, nor do I mean it disparagingly.  I mean it simply as a commentary on the change in male psychology - human psychology, really - as we age.  Time passes and the infinite possibilities of life collapse into a single reality.  By middle age, that reality is essentially set.  No, there's nothing in particular about the universe itself that requires such lives to remain unchanged, only our psychology that leads us to prefer the familiar over the novel.

That said, in general I will agree with you.  Those whom some would consider my peers, I do not comprehend much at all, and I do not consider them my peers.  I don't understand what motivates them, because it is not what motivates me.  I have always known what I wanted, and the only struggle I have had was learning the patience to get there in due time and to learn to build towards those goals over a summation of years.

With this said, I will not visit providers who consider me too young; I won't even ask.  I feel no compulsion to prove I am special or "different" from those my age so that a provider may see me; I find it proves itself eventually without my pushing the issue.

And to answer the irony of posting about myself and my character, while simultaneously saying I feel no compulsion to prove myself special, well it's only because the subject came up :) And because I am younger than the average hobbiest, it is a question of some interest to me which I have pondered at length.

However, as tallslim26 points out, I've never had a problem with it either.  I simply choose well and present myself as a gentleman and with respect and the rest takes care of itself.

46 is my favorite age, so far. I see gents no younger than 40, and well, since I am now 46, I like that age. Men in their 40s plus are more Passionate and definately more Sensual Lovers. You have nothing to worry about, you are right in the middle of many of the ladies favorite age range.

Have Fun...
