Hey there. So, I am considering getting professional photos taken of myself. However, before doing so, I wanted to ask you all some questions: do gentlemen prefer professional over photos taken at home? Does it really matter? What are you looking for with photos? Quality? Assets? Etc.? As always, thanks for the insight! ~giamarie

Honesty is all I'm looking for. Professional shots are fine but if I see something that just screams "PHOTOSHOPED" I start to wonder what the gal is hiding.

Also, I don't care much for location shots. I won't be seeing you on a beach, by the pool or in a sports car. We will be in a bedroom together so I guess my preference is to see stuff that was shot in doors.

care if you took them yourself (timer on the camera) or they were taken by a professional.  Discretion is a must so if you need to blur your face, then do it.  Some ladies only show parts of their face, meaning eye shot, lips shot, etc.  It is not necessary to show "all".  You can leave something for the imagination to dwell on and for our meeting.  Good luck.

Generally I find the professionally done photos to be alot more useful if only because they're higher quality - not blurry, some effort has been made to provide good lighting to skin doesn't look too dark or washed out.. etc.

That is of course a generalization.  I've seen some ladies who did the photos themselves and were indistinguishable from professional photos.

But as the other poster said, no photoshopping, except to remove identifying marks like tattoos.  And use locations I'd expect to see you, like lobbies, rooms, etc. because that effects the lighting.  A bright beach tends to conceal features that would be visible in a room and can make a potential client expect something you won't deliver, setting you both up for potential disappointment.

Oh, one last thing.. tiny pictures are not helpful.  The average monitor these days is no smaller than 1024x768 and many are 1280x1024.  A thumnail sized image, or pretty much anything smaller than 600x400, is going to be too small to be useful to someone viewing a website.  You don't have to upload the full resolution 3000x2000 pixel pictures because those can hike your bandwidth bills, but something larger is very much appreciated.

I don't think it matters

I don't see any need for "professional" photos.  I want to get a general feel for what my date looks like & her shape.  

I don't care for butt picts.  Nor do I think the need to be totally revealing.  Just not necessary.  

I consider photos SUSPECT if there's only 1 or 2 from the same angle.  (My graduation picture is very hansome but didn't look at all like me!)  

Another reason to NOT use pro photos...  update them every 6 - 12 months or whenever there's significant change...  like changing a clothes size!

I don't think you need a lot of photos 6 - 12 good ones.

I'm looking for photos that are accurate of what the provider looks like. I don't mind if they are professionally taken or if they are just taken at home.

Some amateur photos are OK, but the professional ones usually blow the other away.

Have full body shots that reveal what your body looks like.  They don't have to be full nude (although that is nice), but a client wants to get an idea of what he's going to see.

Face pictures with a nice smile or other aluring look are great, but I do understand some people having to conceal their face.

Pictures should fill the screen and load instantly.  No one wants to wait thirty seconds for a photo to load.

There should be at least a half dozen photos if not more and they should be updated every year at least.
