Any way to include files (PDF, Powerpoint, etc) in our posts?

If this question is answered in any of the policy statements, I missed it.

I have a 2 items of interest I was thinking about sharing.  One is PDF format, the other is an animated Powerpoint slide

You can PM me if there is a detailed/tech answer

You can supply a link to those file formats, but they cannot be displayed in a post.

So since both of the files are located on my home PC, the links would have connect to those file locations?  And I would have to allow file sharing via my PC?

Not sure that is an option that is going to work for me

Is there any way I can put copies of the files on some public forum and create links to those locations?

Upload your files there.

Yes, they do.  I have not used it before, but it looks pretty easy to set up.

Thank you

Before you go there, think for a moment about showing the Ter world who you are, via your isp.  May not be a big deal, but it could be a huge dent into your "other world"

I have developed pseudo close relationships with several members, but when a situation arise that would cause me to lower my defenses by sharing email addresses or phone numbers, I shut things down. TER is my small world away from my everyday world, I want minimal connections to exist between the two. Such is my existence.

What you are about to embark on is a journey into the twilight zone or is it the outer limits???

Go out and get yourself a godaddy hosted site if you must show people your interests by using pdf's and PowerPoint...

It's not smart to try and outsmart the cyber curious by allowing them access to your ISP hosted site or by allowing access to your PC - that is tempting fate...

. . . get a private one. GoDaddy works with "Domain by Proxy".

Thanks to all for the input.  I had the same concerns and now I have a better understanding, better perspective.   And now I also know more about what can be easily posted.
