The only reason I came to this site was to say this:

Providers,  Men of Color (Black Men), do hereby request that if you do not accept us as recievers of your service. Please state so. For we will not be offended, and we will save both ourselves a great deal of time. And we can then take our donations elsewhere.

Thanks in Advance

I don't think that you can really speak on behalf of all (or even most) black men.  If you are able to handle that some providers don't accept black clients without being offended, then I think that's great.  But I doubt that's common among black men.

Here's a similar situation:

A lady at work asked if she could set me up with her friend.  I asked to hear more about the friend.  She showed me a picture and it was a black woman.  I said "no" as politely as I could.  It wasn't specifically her skin color with which I had a problem.  But she had features common to women of African decent that I simply don't find attractive.  When she asked why I wasn't interested, she got angry and asked if it was because she was black.  I tried to remain as polite as possible and said that I just didn't find her attractive.

She wouldn't let it go and I was trying to remain diplomatic.  She wanted to know what about her that I didn't find attractive.  I pointed out some features (wide nose, big butt...but I did NOT say skin color) that turned me off.

A couple of hours later, I got a call from HR.  A complaint had been filed against me for being racist.

I don't blame the providers for leaving this info off their site.  There is a venomous atmosphere in this country right now where someone can be accused of racism for innocuous things (frequently just observing that there are differences between the races) and the accusation alone is enough to cause serious problems for the accused.  Ask Don Imus, who was actually being far more sexist than he was racist when he made the remark that brought him down.

Don't blame the providers, blame the people creating the venomous atmosphere by attacking everyone who even notes racial differences.  When stating a preference *will* offend a lot of people, it's got to be easier to just stay silent on the issue and deal with it on a case by case basis.

Sorry, DK, you don't speak for me...

My opinion - If you don't want to provide service to all, then you should find another line of work.

If there was any single benefit out of legalization of prostitution that I look forward to, it would be that racial discrimination  would no longer be allowed.

I would think providers would be the one demographic not prone to racial discrimination.  Maybe the lady who turned you down was afraid of finding a dick she couldn't handle???

Seriously tho, has race been an issue for others?

Although prostitution is against the law putting up a website advertising yourself as an escort is not. Once that site is up however saying on it that you will not service any particular racial group would be considered discrimination. No lady is going to be dumb enough to do that in print.

Escorting is not the same as any other business. You are paying a woman to perform an intimate act with you. She has the right to decide who she is going to see just as she has a right to date whomever she wants to date. Honestly, do you really want to be with a woman who doesn't want to be with you?  How much fun could that possibly be?

In a perfect world none of this would be an issue. We don't live in a perfect world and, unfortunately, we don't hobby in one either.

So in your estimation an escort should see anyone who calls and has the $$$? You must be insane. And there are ways to get around the "race issue"...companies etc do it all the time.

You, and other men like you who may rely on the review system to "scare" the ladies into seeing everyone and doing everything you want
are akin to bullies. There are some of us who aren't at all scared by the review system...don't except them and have had absolutely no trouble with business. You're just the type I stay the hell away from.

Wow and your little premise if an escort won't see every man she shouldn't be in the business....lets hope that little premise doesn't trip over into every day life. What would happen if you didn't like carrots? I guess in your eyes you should quit eating altogether.

Alright, I will come clean and admit that if I have reason to believe a man is black before I see him - either because of his voice on the phone, or the name he gives me in an e-mail, I will decline to see him.

I do not consider myself a racist, though some would force that label on me, and that is their choice.

Why do I not see black men? Several reasons, some of which I prefer to keep to myself, even with an alias. Suffice it to say that black men are more likely to attempt to bargain, more likely have poor hygiene, more likely to be aggressive or violent. Certainly not all, but my experience has been that a black man has a higher likelihood of any or all of the above. In two years of escorting, I have had three truly horrible experiences. All were black men.

Do I put the fact that I will not see black men on my webasite? Absolutely not. There was a provider who used to post here frequently who indicated on her website that she did not see black men. I saw numerous threads dedicated to bashing her. Thanks, but no thanks. I will pass on being bashed or blacklisted because of my preferences and my defending my right to decide who has access to my body.

But when it comes right down to it - my body my choice.

I am not of AA descent. However, I do suspect certain racial discrimination by some providers. When I try to request an appointment, I will inform the provider of my race and will ask if she would feel comfortable being with me. I do not always get an answer back with my request.

I absolutely have no problem with a provider choosing whom she wants to be with given the information. However, I would appreciate a reply of "No Thanks" so that I can move-on. I think that would a common courtesy. Ask yourself this, if you ask someone a question and the person ignores you. How would you feel? The receiver could have said "No Thanks" or "Sorry, Can't Help You" or some other short answers. Personally, I don't intentionally leave people hanging when I am asked a question. That's just me and my personal belief.

Good thing for the alias. I don't need one, though.

At first I was going to be *massively* upset by this. It sounds as though you've let a few bad apples form your opinion of an *entire race* which is pretty much bigotry at its total best. If your 3 bad experiences were with white men, would you then refuse to see that race instead?

But then I thought about the common question that comes up about ladies entertaining men under 30... is it pretty much the same caliber of stereotype?

But yeah, it's your body, your choice. If you can't open your mind, then no one should ask you to open your legs :)

your analogy here is relating to talent/skill/education, whereas the original relates to skin color, which except for Michael Jackson, is beyond anyone's control

yes, both are discriminatory, but in completely different ways. Discrimination based on skill is different than discrimination based on skin pigmentation or heritage. Advertising for someone who speaks fluent Spanish is different than advertising for someone who is Hispanic.

Now, if the provider's ad said she would only see clients who were skilled at DATY....

I base my decision to see someone on screening and my communication with them, not on their race.  However for you, maybe you can let the lady know of your race and make sure it's ok with them.  If you have a bad experience because of your race, find someone who is comfortable with it.

Nope, didn't take me long at all to get called a racist.

BET isn't racist, nor is the Black Caucus in Congress, nor is the NAACP, nor are the literally hundreds of organizations that exist by and for blacks only. And lets not forget Jeremiah Wright. He most certainly isn't racist, is he?

But I am a racist. No problem.

No, I am not allowing my three bad experiences to to form my opinion of an entire race. The simple truth is, I do not care for black men. My feelings did not stop me from being willing to see a man who made a date with me, but after a few crappy experiences, I decided why on earth should I be putting myself through the simple act of tolerating an experience? Not all money is good money, and it just isn't worth it.

It is MY body, and it is MY choice. By the way, I don't see men under 25 either, for the same reasons. I love my job too much to tolerate lousy experiences that will only serve to make me cynical and jaded until I grow to hate a job I love.

Statements of yours such as "Suffice it to say that black men are more likely to attempt to bargain, more likely have poor hygiene, more likely to be aggressive or violent. " are what get you that label.
It was already clear that "The simple truth is, I do not care for black men. "

Your analogy to the existence of black groups is poor.
If BET claimed white actors are more likely to forget their lines, the Black Caucus reported that white legislators engage in pork-barrel spending, the NAACP stated white students are cheaters, then it would be fair to label them as racist organizations. As for Wright, many do call him a racist.

Age discrimination is also different, as it does take time for people to mature, which comes with experience. You are tainting an entire race as being uncouth, unhegenic, violent/untrustworthy etc as predetermined by the color of their skin.

Certainly, you should only see someone you are comfortable with, and want to spend time with. That would make it more enjoyable for you both. But the reasons you gave, by tossing out various stereotypes of blacks, is ugly.

This is a sensitive issue, obviously. The hobby isn't quite the same as other service industries -- like someone shipping a package for you at the UPS Store. Here it's someone choosing to spend intimate time with someone, and for it to be enjoyable (and for the customer to "get his money's worth") then both people involved need to be comfortable and able to relax and enjoy themselves. Even if a woman's reasons aren't those we would agree with, I think we should respect that she has the right to choose her clients by whatever criteria she selects.

The original poster is being perfectly reasonable. He thinks it would be nice to know up front if his skin color is going to be an issue so that he can find a lady who would accept and enjoy an appointment with him. I'm not sure there is a great solution here that doesn't make a lady look bad on her website or profile, but I can definitely see where he's coming from.

I'm a man who appreciates women of every ethnicity on planet earth, and even though I'm a Wonder Bread white guy — I've had stupid crushes on asians, hispanics, blacks, Native Americans, etc. Yet I also have a "type" -- which seems to be white, blonde hair, blue eyes. Though I wasn't consciously thinking about that for my first hobby experience, when she opened her door, there she was: blonde hair, blue eyes, and stunning. And just seeing my "type" instantly put me in a better frame of mind.

I've rambled on here without coming to a real point -- but that's probably because there is no easy answer. I don't see a good way for a provider to display her preferences without her being branded as a racist, yet I can see where some men would be helped.

When I sent my initial e-mail to my new friend, I gave her a brief physical description and even a picture. That way she was able to tell if she liked what she saw before we even met. (Though she later told me I was "much cuter" in person!)

Take it easy everyone, and have some good barbecue.

Getting really weary of this sort of malicious manipulation of "prejudice". This isn't about racism, this is about guys who try to force a woman to have sex with them when she prefers not to. Guys aren't blocked from having sex just because some women choose not to sleep with them; they just don't get to screw specific women. If sex were the real objective, we wouldn't be having this conversation - the true objective is to to pressure any woman to have sex whether she is comfortable or not. The REASON she doesn't want to is irrelevant (including racism, if it came to that). So shame on the manipulators and the enablers who always pile on in their reflexive spasms of political correctness. If she doesn't want to, you can't make her. Period. Posting complaints or supporting them is pointless and dishonest. [end of rant]

DK,

What I want is the provider community to act as professionally as any other business community that offers their services to the public.

Mt dentist, my doctor, my dry-cleaner, etc., could all be racist in their minds. But as long as the service I receive and the treatment I receive is equal to what everyone else gets, then I really don't care how they feel in 'your heart of hearts.' A dentist, dry-cleaner, etc who could not contain his feelings of disgust towards those of another race, would probably be out of business pretty quickly.

A provider who cannot offer services to all races equally, should in my opinion, find another line of work, where she is not expected to provide a 'public' service. Simple... You don't get to hang your shingle out, offering service to everyone, and then back away from that. Not in America.

In my estimation an escort who prefers not to see a man for whatever the reason is being fair...to herself and to him. The service would not be the same no matter how much one would wish it to be considering the very nature of the service.

Race is a tender issue but that doesn't mean that everyone sees it the same way. Consider the sexism that occurs on a daily basis, however that doesn't get nearly as much press and outrage as race does(IMHO). And right or wrong it will be with us and has been with us and all we can do is manage it the best way we know how. There is no need for insults and slurs but if a lady prefers not to see men of color or men from the middle east or where ever, she has that right to politely refuse service. She does not have the right to be outright mean and hateful. The same way you have the right to choose who you see.

My comment about the review system was exactly that...my comment, as this has been used to intimidate the ladies.I added it as I thought it appropriate. I realize you never mentioned it.

This subject has caused many a discussion and what most people don't get is that if an escort was selling shoes then I don't see the problem, but she's not and believe it or not who a lady sees may have something to do with her life experience(or other factors that could color her opinion) and also consider the fact that she is in the company of a total stranger and needs to feel safe(and that could mean many things to many ladies).

I have been criticized for not seeing certain men who I know want certain things. I am doing them a favor by not taking their money when I know full well they would not get what they wanted. Would they prefer I see them, take their money and then have them experience disappointment? And before anyone jumps in and says to be an escort a lady has to do xyz or she shouldn't be in the business, I refer back to my little example of the carrot. Each has his or her niche and services that niche well. There's room for everyone here.

I'd like to comment on the thing about letting a few bad apples form an opinion about an entire race....

If one doesn't socially know any African Americans, ANY experience with ANY black guy will set up one's opinion of all black guys.  That experience can be as silly (latent racism) as seeing a black guy in a white SUV getting chased all over California.  However, if one knows lots of white people, one bad white guy (or three) won't even equal 1% of the whites this person has ever met.

I've had experiences where black co-workers (85% of the employee pool) at my day job won't even socialize with whites.  They don't know socially any whites and only remember the instances where a white person hurt them or whatever.

So, to the original poster of this thread, are there any white guys in your social clique?

In the two years I have been escorting, I have seen probably a dozen black men, perhaps a few more than that. Even before I stopped seeing black men, it was not common that I would be contacted by black men, so its not a high number but there have been a few.

Out of the dozen or so black men I've seen, three of them were truly horrible experiences, and I'm not talkgin about just a case of bad hygiene. Of men of other races that I have seen, I have never had an experience like those I had with those black men. So, for men of other races, zero incidents out of I don't know how many clients. Among blacks, three incidents out of a dozen or so.

I'm done defending my decision, or justifying myself when I say YES my experience shows that black men ARE more risky to see. I am a statistics nut, and any statistician can tell you my assessment is a statistically valid one.

I have and still will discriminate on way more than race...such as attitude, lack of cleanliness and menu likes.....and now those Neanderthals who think women who "work" should see all/do all to anyone who calls/emails. Got news for those men....we are NOT public domain and have the right to CHOOSE.

OR you can pay me your hard earned money and I will gladly sit and give you just my time and companionship. And then hygiene, attitude, age, weight, menu items, dick size, hair color, clothing style, eye color, shoe size and anything else won't matter as all we'd be doing was chatting and I'd know I was safe because of the security camera gently whirring in the back ground and the panic button hidden on my person. Should she wish to have a wider sample size to satisfy the norm of statistics taking then who will provide her with the necessary security to stand there and help out should her worst fears be realized.

I doubt that this lady has an issue with having dinner with a black man or sitting chatting with a black man. I am going to go out on a limb and say that having intimate relations with a black man is what she does not prefer to do.

Hell, I'll stand and chat with a Middle Eastern man in the grocery store line, I'll chat with him randomly at a coffee shop...but see him as a client no. My experiences with this type of culture and the way they treat women(and I am referring to heavily accented men from that region, not those who have been brought up away from the traditional culture)has been horrid to say the least. I never got the sense that she was trying to *force* me to date her friend.  What happened was that, when I said "no", she believed it was because of race and she wanted to punish me for being "racist".

The minute I said "no", I think the date was off the table.  After that, I think she was just trying to play the race card.

She's not tainting an entire race simply because of their skin color.  The skin color is simply an indicator that a person belongs to a certain cultural group.  And there are practices and peculiarities common in that group that she doesn't like.

For instance, in black culture, it's acceptable to be vocal during a movie.  The little private thoughts and analysis that I have the self-control to not vocalize appear, in black culture, to be acceptable to say out loud.  In black culture, a movie is participatory and not a passive experience.

Do white people talk in theatres?  I've seen a few.  But, if I say that I just went to see a movie and everyone was talking loudly to the screen, everyone who is being honest will assume that I was in a theater dominated by black people.

How is it that there are three theaters near me that most of my white friends avoid?  There isn't a crime problem there.  They're nice theaters with state-of-the-art projection and sound.  They have stadium seating.  They also have a heavy black customer population.  I have noticed that, when I go to those theaters, there are loud people in the audience...every time.  And, independently, my friends have noticed the same thing and shared the observation with me.

Am I discriminating?  Yes!  I want to hear the movie...every word.  I want to get absorbed in the story.  I don't want to hear a running analysis from someone behind me pulling me out of the moment.  I discriminating between the theater where I can hear the movie and the theater where I can't

Somehow, the theaters dominated by white customers don't have a reputation for loud audiences.  Have I heard people talk during the movie there?  Rarely, but it does happen.  But, I've never been threatened with violence there when I politely asked someone to be quiet.  Every time I've politely asked a black person to be quiet in a movie theater, I have been threatened.

It's a culture thing, not a skin-color thing.  The skin color just marks you as belonging to that culture.  You black people don't like it, they should look to change their culture and not force me to accept what I dislike.

You're right and you make my point...if it walks like a duck...

If I don't get a response I assume the lady doesn't want to see me and I just move on. I don't want either of us to be disappointed or have a bad time.

i accept men of color as long as they are on a certain level i myself a an ebony provider most men of color try to finess thoer way out of paying that is why the rejection is there its not personal but how others have played it if you were to contact me i would gladly see you as long as you qualify sorry but there are some men of color who treat this as a trick/hoe situation that they can scheme from us providers anyways like i said if you see a provider and tret her good she can refer you and you can be seen by a wider range of providers

"I would think providers would be the one demographic not prone to racial discrimination."
You might think that, but as you can see from the replies on this thread, providers can be as bigoted as any other population.

"Seriously tho, has race been an issue for others?"
Only indirectly - Several websites of girls I have been interested in have language such as "I only see Caucasian gentlemen."
Another 'massage'-only provider who I had seen off and on over several years, decided to stop seeing men of color. Remember, this is a massage provider, not FS.

What's amazing is that over the several times I had seen her, she often told stories of the many customers she had, who had poor hygiene. Yet, this did not stop her from seeing White guys!

Do you chose the ladies you see based on photos and reviews??? You do, right? So you get to choose but the escort doesn't get to choose??

Is this what you are saying? So you get to discriminate but the escort doesn't? Double standard, she is getting paid so you get to do what you want even if it against her rules???

No more double standards!!
You are no longer allowed to chose who you see, from now on you must only see who is available, not who is more appealing to you, or reviews or price. And if you don't like it tough, we can't have any discrimination here.

Good luck with that.
Nico V.

PS For those who didn’t get it this is pure sarcasm!

Your attempt at an analogy is flawed, for people that choose to offer a service to the public.

My doctor didn't choose me, I chose him...
My dentist didn't choose me, I chose her...
My dry cleaner didn't choose me, I chose them...
My grocery store didn't choose me, I chose them...

What do they all have in common? By choosing to advertise and open their doors to the public, they do not have the 'right' to discriminate.

My conjecture, which you and others disagree with, is that by advertising your services to the public, you should not be allowed to discriminate based on race, any more than a dentist or grocery store.

Could you still find ways to discriminate? Of course. Am I 'forcing' you to see people whom you do not want to see? Of course not! You always have the right to not see certain people. But then do not be surprised if you are called a racist, or even sued as a result. You also have the right to find a different line of work, where you are not expected to serve the public.

Or, you could operate like a Country Club - Offer private memberships only to those that fit your racial makeup. Perfectly legal. But again, do not be surprised if people call you a racist.

If you have noticed, I am trying to treat this profession like any other. The providers on this board demand to be respected as professionals (and I agree). But to be treated as a professional, you must act as a professional, in all phases of your work.

Having followed this thread and actively participated, this post of yours does have some merit. I can fully understand the race issue (skin color).

Would using the word "culture" be better. I do not personally discriminate on skin color but I do discriminate if you wish to call it that, on cultural differences that could and have significantly impacted my escorting.

I have no problem with being called a culturalist. I will stand by my choice not to see certain men of certain cultures. Skin color has nothing to do with it. Cultural norms regarding the disrespect toward women do negatively impact the way I work and worse case could cause physical harm.

Let's say that you called me and were a perfect gentleman and gave me all the info needed. You showed up and I opened the door and there you stood in all your ebony glory. I have no problem with seeing you. You as a person of color would be subject to the same boundaries any man would be subject to in my line of work and in my estimation. To answer the door and then say no and close the door in your face is humiliating and rude. As others have suggested, maybe mentioning your race for those who do have a problem with hyper-pigmented skin is a good way to go, even though it may seem very unfair.

The only issue I still have with your general view that an escort, because she is offering the "public" a service should see all that call, or leave the business. Even restaurants can refuse service if they see fit and they are public places. In your estimation should I see a man who emails me saying,
"Hey whore, come on over and fuck me". Does that mean I am discriminating against rude, disrespectful men? After all, on the "public" premise you put forth, I should see him.

No dentist or doctor would put up with patients that were dangerous or rude, they would be asked to leave. And on that note if a doctor accepted a patient who was like that she/he is in an office with others who could assist if things got out of hand. We can't do that. We are alone with a strange man and that in and of itself takes guts to do.

OR am I off track a little and you are only referring to the race issue and not a myriad of other possibilities that can make our line of work unpleasant?

I went to the eye doctor one time, and when she got close to adjust those little gizmos, I know that I was thinking about having sex with her.  And yet, I picked her, and she didn't refuse to see me based upon any screening info.

Hmmm, now that I think of it, my eyes could use to be checked again, and my insurance even foot the bill for the titillation.

I have to confess that I DID look at your pictures before contacting you, all that time ago.  You can still screen me, as long as I get to keep looking at your pictures.

BTW, this is all your fault.  If you had ripped me off way back then, it would have saved me a fortune.  So, you owe me!!!  LOL

Famke, Nice response.

I think we are in agreement! By no means should you have to put up with poor treatment. If a client is behaving badly, of course you have the right to 'kick him to the curb,' just as if you were running a restaurant or any other service.

In this discussion of who has the right to service, I am really only referring to the race issue. Poor behavior by clients of ANY race, is grounds for you to 'fire' that client! I am NOT advocating that you have to put up with bad behavior.

So, when can I see you (smile)?

Thank you. Well now that that's cleared up, we are on the same page. I very much appreciate your response. Sometime this sort of discussion gets out of hand but you have handled this whole thing rather well.

I have never been on the receiving end of blatant racism and I can only image the feelings that it churns up.

About seeing me(smile)? I don't think we're in the same area and sadly due to my "real" as opposed to "unreal" job I don't/can't travel. I have thoroughly enjoyed this exchange we have had. Do have yourself a great day PittPanther.
