Questions about Verification Services along with discretion concerns

I suppose I could ask customer service of the verification services, but I thought I'd ask the clients and providers that actually use verification services (especially Date Check) on a regular basis.  I want to find out the actual use case scenarios instead of figuring with the theoreticals.

I'm using Date Check as an example here, but I think these questions/concerns apply to verification services in general.

I have some important questions that came to my mind after viewing one of the sample profiles that Date Check provided on their FAQ.

Note that there's already quite a bit of identifying information here - First name, last initial, sub-segment of government issued ID.

There's also info on e-mail address and message board alias.

Question 1:

Who is allowed to view this profile?
  * Only providers who I authorize to screen me.
  * Only providers?
  * Any Date Check member?
  * None of the above and some other choice?

It seems there would be some serious security holes if any Date Check member could view the entire profile.

Question 2:

Am I allowed to use a fake name in the profile, if I let Date Check have my real name for the initial screening?

Question 3:

What do providers ACTUALLY use to authenticate that the physical person that enters her hotel room is actually the guy in the profile?

  * SAFE word?
  * Photo ID + 4 consecutive digits of government ID only?
  * Photo ID + 4 consecutive digits of government ID + name on ID?
  * some other combination I am not aware of?

Question 4:

What types of searching capabilities does Date Check offer members to search over client records?

For example, can I search for all guys named "Timothy" in Miami?
If so, that would really suck if hypothetically, I had a very distinctive name like Barack.  Then hypothetically  my anal employer (or political opponent) could sign up for date check and search every month to see if there were any guys named Barack signed up for date check recently.  After he finds the existence of my Date Check record, he can then invest in the effort to destroy my career/reputation/chances to become Prez.

At the very least, they probably allow for searching over ID, correct?   Or do you have to generate some sort of time limited unique link that you give to a SPECIFIC provider?

Thanks a lot!

Only providers that are registered with date-check can look you up by your ID# or email address.  Other hobbyists cannot.  You pick what is seen on your profile.  I.E. You can have John S. or John Smith, etc.  Some people choose to have their real full names.

For the nitty gritty, I believe date-check can answer the questions for you.  IMHO, it's a great verification site, as well as is P411.

I think you are being over-cautious, but you are the best judge of what makes you comfortable.

With Date-check there is an listing of who is online (using your handle, not your real name).  Providers, but not clients, can click on your handle on that list to view your profile. Date-check shows you who has viewed your profile, so you will see views by ladies that you have not requested verification from.  You control what is in your profile.  There are required fields.  Your first name is required as is your city.  I do not know if Date-check polices this information to make sure it matches what you provided.

Only once have I had a provider ask for the safe word.  I've never had a provider ask to see my ID.  I always make sure to request my appointments from the email address listed on Date-check, so this may alleviate some concerns.
