If Preferred411 is a "screening" service, what is it screening for/against?

I gather from their website that they will:

1. Collect personal information about the individual applying.

2. Call the employer of the individual applying.

I'm assuming the answer to my first question is that P411 is trying to figure out if an applicant is LE. So my next question is based on that assumption.

How does calling a phone number and inquiring about an employee protect anyone from LE?

I ask because I imagine it would be very easy to fake all the information P411 wants.

Also, I spoke with someone who stated he signed-up for P411, and supplied phone number to his desk at work, and never received a call. Yet he is now "screened".

Am I missing something, or is P411 not really doing what it says it sets out to do?

Also, I understand these questions might raise some hackles. It's not my intention to agitate. I get the impression this is a tight-knit community genuinely concerned with the safety of its participants. I am asking these questions because I honestly do not understand how P411 protects anyone.

If someone is a member of P411, you can be 'reasonably' sure he is not LE, and he is who he says he is. You can actually become a P411 member with no job verification. If you have seen two providers who are members, and will vouch for you, that is all it takes. As for the job verification, I assume they will do a little checking to make sure the business is legit. They may have done something else to make sure your friend is "legit." Maybe they didn't call his desk, but they called the main company number and just verified employment or something.

Your concerns are also why some ladies still require additional screening even for P411 members.

Sure LE could set up a fake company or somehow get verified to become a P411 member, but they are not likely to do it. LE is usually more concerned with streetwalkers and agencies.

This hobby is risky for both sides. You do what you can to minimize it but you will never eliminate all risk. If you can't accept or handle the risk, you should not be in the hobby as a hobbyist or provider.

By the way, LE gotta get laid too. Many providers actually have LE clients.

almost every question concerning the hobby has been asked on this board. Back on the main newb page click on search, then in the topic box put in a phrase like "411" then set the days to more than 30 for a thorough search, I usually go for 360 days.

.........yes, LE is more concerned with trafficking, streetwalkers, and agencies; then individuals.

As a member of P411, I still ask my gentlemen who find me through P411, to forward my appointment form, or to forward his information in an e-mail, or via phone.  DC is a "big small town", and I must know whom I am visiting with.

And yes, PS, LE has to get laid, too.

Hugs and Kisses,
Kelly
