OK, after toying with the notion of this hobby, I have gotten verified on P411 and am ready to start with my first experience. I have had very few partners (happily committed relationship), and I just want to same some diversity. Life is short, right?Sterling86's thread prompted me to ask some additional questions of my own.

Anyway, I have some etiquette questions along those lines:

1) Should I not refer in any way to my private life, including not wearing a band? Or is it expected that a lot of hobbyists are married? I'd like for my new experiences to help me add new dimensions to my private life.

2) If a provider offers a surcharge for extras, would I need to book a session first without extras and raise the question later? I know it would not be appropriate to discuss particulars in setting up the appointment.

3) I am not an AA, but I am a minority (Asian). I know some providers will not see certain types, including AA. I have run across one provider that also lists Asian specifically. Any idea of my race possibly getting me screened out by certain providers who don't specifically list exclusions?

4) What about real names? Do you go by an alias? P411 requires a real name for verification, which the provider will know, right?

In general I'm just pretty anxious and looking forward to the experience. I never would have considered it without first having stumbled upon TER. I have yet to scratch the surface of the available forum resources, but rest assured I will be putting in the time to get better informed.

If you feel safe, wear the ring. It was a little awkward to be asked for me. But I was injured and it showed. If you are afraid of being robbed, the ring is the least of your concern.

My 2 cents.
#1--Leave your private life out of it. If you want to talk in generalities that's OK. As for the band. They don't care.

#2 If she offers it ask for it but only after screening (but don't be rude, show respect) or after you arrive.

#3 Most don't care, but if she states it in her ad just move on.

#4 They don't care- Pick a name or use your TER handle. Not sure if they see your real name on P411 but you can check the Provider View on that site. I didn't think it shows up, but please check

One thing you must do Is RESEARCH TER does have some good recourses take advantage of them,

Questions

1. Wearing your ring is the safest way to not lose it someplace. It's no secret that a high percentage of hobbyists are married. You can share what ever you want about your personal life or make up a whole new persona for yourself. Don't try digging for more of her personal info than she shares either.

2. Other than anal very few things are an extra charge, I would personally avoid anyone that up sells everything.

3. It wouldn't hurt to mention that you are asian, but most of the better providers wont care one way or another.

4. P411 uses your real name for verification but doesn't forward it to the ladies, other than the name in your ID number. You can disclose as much or as little personal information as you are comfortable doing.

You got two good answers from

2 of my new highly unpaid assistants here, I am unpaid also. I will only comment on the wedding ring, leave it on, she does not care if you are married. In fact, I think most providers feel most of their clients are married. For them, married guys seem to be safer as they are not looking for anything but NSA sex, not a relationship. I do agree you should mention you are Asian, as many providers might not see you just as many do not see black men either. Just remember, it's their choice, and nothing personal against you.

We were all new at one time. All the answers you received . . .

were spot on. Let me suggest you learn how to use the Search feature on the boards. Many questions are asked every 5 or 6 days. Have you read the Self-Help Manual and several pages here on the Newbie Board?

1) Thats totally up to you. I'm sure its expected that most are married

2) Depends on what it is. If its greek the provider probably wants to know so they can get prepared. You can use wording like "Id love to have a full tutorial about the country of greece when we meet" or something like that to keep it generic

3) If you have a concern about that -- just ask in general "do you have any racial or ethnic hangups?" I've noticed that some cities do have more girls that may have ethnic hang-ups....its only a question but it can save you a lot of wasted time if she did.

4) whatever info you are comfortable with providing (stay off back-page and only go with very well reviewed sources and you'll be fine)
