Hello,

I'm new at this so I appreciate any help/advice. I was in correspondence with a provider on backpage. No reviews on her. Some things give me pause, and I'm wondering if I'm not being too cautious. What do you think?:

- when corresponding with her, I flipped back to the backpage ad and it was gone.
- She has a number that used to belong to another escort from a couple of years ago, but she maintains that she is not that provider
- She has a 240 number, even though she says she's in Arlington.
- she said, "We're ok for $300?" even though we didn't discuss any specific services

I know if I have a bad feeling I should run, but I'm not sure if it's just because I'm totally inexperienced

Using good judgement means seeing well-reviewed providers.

There is absolutely nothing that you have stated about this girl to make
you believe that she is legitimate.

The bad feelings should not come from any of the points you have listed,
but from the fact that she has no reviews.

The disapearing ad. The phone number being used by another provider, the discussion of price, but the biggest red flag: NO reviews! You are a newbie. You shouldn't even be considering a lady without reviews!

You are not being too cautious. You are not being cautious enough!

Read the Self Help Center. You can find it at the top of the page by the life preserver. Read back on this newbie board a bunch of pages. You can learn a lot just doing those two things. But you should also pay for VIP here so you can properly search reviews. It is a very small investment compared to the money you will spend (and can lose if going about this the wrong way) in the hobby.

Others will tell you stay away from Backpage period. I won't do that, but I will say if you use backpage, research what you find there. Search for reviews, Image search the pictures, google the phone numbers. But why don't you start with TER reviews and ad boards, (DC has a lot of well reviewed ladies), before thinking of looking elsewhere.

Definitely stay away from this one, and by the way, never discuss services during a phobe call!

Lots of red flags.  Go with your gut, and move on.  As I have said many times on this forum, you can look anywhere for providers, but you gotta do the research on them.  And this is the place to start.  Reviews, (and there are other review sites, I just can't name them here), check the phone, the pics, the website if there is one.

PS told you to read the self help center, and I heartily concur, that should be mandatory reading for every new member on this site.

Her TER profile lists if she provided services "as promised" (really it's an unspoken promise & there are lots of scammers).
Her TER profile lists if her pictures are real & representative of her (not old or photo shopped).  I am personally suspicious if I see a string of her ads but all use the same 2-3 photos because my experience has been they may be all she has...  either old or internet stolen.  
Phone numbers are no longer geographic so it means nothing & I see many gals now using a area code adjacent to the area they are working.  
Nothing wrong with stating a price so long as no services are spoken because that is the formula "sex for money" which equals prostitution & makes both vulnerable to arrest (in most jurisdictions).  But without reviews, you could be bargaining for a ladies tea!  $300 is not low tier & in my area, only an established provider with good reviews could get that.  

As a newbie, you have enough going on without the uncertainty of a non-reviewed provider.  BTW, you need a hobby phone & separate email for the hobby before you even think of starting.  You'll need a hobby phone to make your final approach to her location.  Read up on the 2 call system!

when taking a flyer on a girl with no reviews makes sense, I did it recently and am damn sure glad I did!
But when you are a newbie isn't that time. I've been seeing girls 7 years and still make mistakes often. I'm pretty good at picking girls but always manage to put a foot wrong somewhere along the way. Did it last week in fact, lol.  good luck and stay safe
