Hi, I am a new provider. I have been working for a local agency-boston area. I have decided the indy way would work best for me. However after 5-6 days -spread out over time I do not have even one review! I have had all repeat friends-they bring gifts, smile and return but no reviews? I feel I will have a hard time as indy without reviews, any thoughts? Any suggestions on the best spot to post an ad/website? Thank you for your thoughts! xoxo Lacy
I wouldn't worry about the reviews, they'll come. Some guys, myself included, are kinda squeamish about posting reviews. Obviously, others are not.
I can't think of any national ad sites I'd recommend. Personally, I don't check them very often. Instead, I'd recommend staying fairly active on the discussion boards here, and starting a blog. You'll probably get better advice on the providers-only board, though.
Good luck!
lol the catch 22 though is that you can't get access to the providers only board without reviews. I requested access when I first joined TER, and recieved a reply indicating that they could not find any reviews yet for me, so I waited. After I got my first review, I requested access again, and to date, have still not gotten a response, nor access. So I dunno what it takes to get access. It appears though, that Fort Knox may be easier to get into than the providers only board.
send an email to Staff and not to the folks running the boards. Explain that you have PM'd multiple requests w/o response. Hopefully, they'll escalate to Admin for you. Hate to say it, but DB requests/problems often don't get addressed.
I am a VIP member, and both of my requests were sent to staff, not a PM to a board moderator. Not sure what the problem is. Oh well, its not a high proiority, but sometimes I do have questions I'd like to ask the ladies.
...since you've had repeat clients, why can't you ask them to write reviews for you? It doesn't cost to submit them plus if they write 2 or more, they become VIP members w/o having to pay.
One word of advise, ask them to be honest and not go overboard. Nothing arouses suspicion (SP?) like a review or two that are 10/10 and the reviewer only has the one review.
Of course, you could post on the Boston board once a week. Include a pic and be honest about being a new indie w/o reviews. Maybe an introductory offer.
Lastly, realize being an indie means that this is now a full-time job that has to be managed well. No more waiting for the agency to call and tell you where to go. You'll have to do your own references, keep a schedule, etc.
Good Luck!
Do you have a website? This, along with a host of other things are required for posting a review here. (I wish they'd ease up a little around here!!). I would suggest going to the write a review part on this site, and make sure your clients CAN write one. I've written one, didn't get posted, and could have written about ten more, but the provider didn't have the required info. P.S. You're right about the indie thing, nearly anywhere in Nevada, most if not all agencies are rip-offs, local guys won't use them.
Relax, the reviews will come! You've only been an indy for 6 days? Sometimes even the most well-reviewed and popular ladies will go weeks or even months between reviews.I would post on eros-boston or cityvibe-boston.You have to pay to advertise on these sites.Stay away from craigslist though, which attract mostly bottom of the barrel clients as I've been told by many providers. Also, don't sell short the power of word of mouth by your current client base! Good luck!
Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I am glad to know the reviews will come in time. I was afraid to request reviews for fear my friends would feel pressured. I am in the middle of scheduling time with a photographer and then I will look into Eros and Cityvibe as you all suggested. I can appreciate "word of mouth" from my present friends but I did not plan on dicussing my indy plans with them. They have all established themselves within the agency. Felt it would be "bad business" to possibly pull people away from the agency. I will keep reading/posting and hopefully continue learning!! Thanks again, xoxo Lacy
Buy a permanent ad on EROS and/or Cityvibe, that will give you a website address if you do not own your own website. A website is needed for review posts. Both sites can be accessed by using the names followed by .com. As stated, avoid Craigslist for a number of reasons.
As suggestion, spend some time on the Boston regional board chatting with the participants there.
Welcome Lacy. Patience is a virtue--the reviews will come. Provide a good GFE service for a fair price and your business will take off. Post on your local board (I think you are allowed 1 ad per week) so guys will get to "Know you" as a person. You can link your ad on an escort mall (Eros or Cityvibe) to each post. Good luck.
Some girls just attract lurkers... ( hate that)
You said that you are in the Boston area. Spend some time on that regional board (they are to the left of this post, choose Boston from the pulldown list) getting to know the participants. Mention the review problem and ask for suggestions. You probaly have met men that do not use review sites. Good luck, the reviews will come, insure that you maintain high standards.
Rare-escort.com has some decent templates, and they're free, although you'll have to put up with some banner ads. It will really help if you have some pictures that are of at least decent quality; camera-phone shots taken in a bar after you've been drinking probably won't cut it. Decently-lit amateur photos will suffice for starting out, but you'll want professional shots before long.
I agree with the suggestion about posting to the local board for a while; reviews will come soon enough if you do that. Some people offer a discount for clients who write reviews, but that can verge on impropriety easily, if it seems like a discount is offered for only positive reviews. You should probably just avoid the whole issue by not doing review discounts.
Be aware that you have to follow TER rules for posting a link to your website in an ad post, but a pic doesn't require such a thing. It does, however, require a server to host the file, sonce TER won't let you just upload a pic directly. You can usually link to one of your website pics.
Unfortunately it looks like your attempt to purchase VIP membership has failed due to your card being declined. Good news is that we have several other payment options that you could try.
We thank you for your purchase!
