I'd seen her before so it didn't bother me. From time to time providers contact me as I'm acitve  on my local ter board.  I wouldn't let this contact by a provider make you stop writing reviews. Just don't respond to her.  Times are tough, it's the end of the month and rents and other bills are due.

although some would say that no provider should ever make contact with a client without their expressed permission.

In any case, you can just ignore the entreaty and know that at least she doesn't have your email or other personal information.

I get PMs all the time as a result of being such a blabber mouth on here, and we often end up hooking up, but that's I.  (And yes, that is grammatical, though weird sounding.)

I posted a review recently on another board. A local provider contacted me through the board (she can't see my e-mail address), noting that I had written a local review recently. She said she was also local and would I like to meet her?

I am usually very paranoid about hobbying, so this has me freaked out. I checked her out and she is a well reviewed provider. I checked out how many reviews were written (for other providers) by her reviewers. She appears to be legitimate.

I am way too paranoid to contact her, but I wonder has this happened to anyone else? Is the just a good way to find new clients - or could it be an LE sting? Makes me wonder if I should ever write a review again.

im a provider... i would neve contact a possible client if thy havenot tryed to reach me 1st that is out of line in my oppinon. she may be lajit but that is sounds like she is tryn to get in ur wallit...(im sure most hobbiest think thats what its ll about for us but truly its 70/20) but contact her if ya want like i said im sure its lajit just a lil out of line on her part and trashy

Providers can and often do prospect for new business like any other business. You wrote a review on a local board and she PM'd you and introduced herself and your worried about this? Seriously? If youre that paranoid then you shouldn't be writing reviews. I mean someone, anyone could PM your board user handle. Provider and hobbyist alike.

if your privacy is that important to you that a PM on a hobby site from one of the other members makes you uncomfortable, then dont write reviews and dont post. Just see read and see ladies.
