Problem with a provider, need advice

Hi all. I've been in the hobby for about 4 months now and need some advice. A little sensitive subject I know, but I don't think I am the only person this has happened to.

Contacted a provider today from a reputable escort site who had 3 reviews. Sounded safe.  Called, talked a little on the phone (sounded nice) and set up a time to meet. She told me to contact her 30 min before the date. I called, didn't answer. Then received a text "I have all your information (which I didn't give any), I know everything about you." Then another that said "you are going to do everything I tell you".

I'm not going to go into details about all the texts she sent me (actually still getting them into the evening...), but she tried to get me to meet her somewhere to give her money...or else...come and get me at my house, call LE (never met her so no worries there)...

Yes, I know she's an idiot...I feel a little like one too right now...lol. I thought 3 reviews was enough.

I didn't meet her and I know she probably doesn’t have any of my information, but how do I warn other folks about her? The sites say I am not allowed to put any comments that would be damaging, but other fella's are going to wind up going through the same problem.

What should I do to warn other hobbyest's (and providers too I guess if they would want to know)? Other that nothing of course...

Thanks for your help.

I would immediately post on your local TER board a ripoff warning, as any other sites that have local boards. I am just astonished.

Yeah, really disappointed. Kinda makes me a little gun shy about trying any new girls. I've met a couple GFE's that I've clicked with that I might just stay with for a while.

I just went to the site and noticed they have removed the post. It had been up for a month or so. So, I don't have a pic, but have a number and handle I can post.  Thanks

If you didn't block your cellphone i.d., she (or her pimp) may have your name, and be able to get further info if they are willing to invest the time and $.  While the threat is probably idle, I would at least save all the texts, e-mails, etc., and dump them into a file that can be retrieved later.  From your description, this person trying to extort you, and you should not take this lightly. Block their texts or other communications if this is ongoing.  If there is escalation,  I would consult with an attorney, or bring LE in if your safety (or your family's) is at risk. I would also consider getting a new cell #, and changing my e-mail address....

establishing a "track record" for "her".

Always pay attention not only to how many reviews but who the reviewers are.

Do they each have ten or more reviews? If not, I would discount them *for the purpose of ascertaining safety alone*.

Yes many guys have less than 10 revews and are good hobbyists but if you see a lady with three reviews and the "reviewers" have only a very few reviews each it is *potentially* suspect.

minimal.  Well-reviewed is generally defined as at least 6-10 reviews from established reviewers (similar number of reviews over time).  Use a hobby phone and a hobby e-mail account and do not use your work computer for play.

You have already gotten good advise.  Do not respond what so ever to this extortion attempt.  Save the messages with all the source info.  If you were so foolish to show up, you could place yourself in physical danger.

If this continues, you may need to take this to a lawyer who may have to get LE involved...  for your safety.

This is why, one uses a private e-mail, not linked to your civie account & a hobby phone not traceable to you.  You could change your hobby e-mail & hobby phone & problem solved.

Was this rip off "provider" on TER?  If so you should contact TER administration.

I'm sorry this happened to you...

First, lots of good advice on 'no response' from others.

Scammers are lazy SOBs, so when reading reviews look for consistently short reviews which are very similar in content. Then click on the reviewer's link and check their other reviews to see how they read.

Thanks all for your advice. I don't have a hobby phone, but now I think I'll get one.

Just to give you an update, the texts stopped last night. They just stopped asking for money completely and were focusing on turning me into LE. I won't bore you with specifics, but it started sounding real immature and unrealistic (I had only asked her for a date). So I asked her how old she was.  17 yrs (FYI: way younger than the pics)....the only thing I think I believe. After a bit of a forcefully reprimanding text...the texts just stopped. GD kids!

Still a learning experience for me and plan on getting a hobby phone. And plan on seeing better reviewed ladies. How do you get a hobby phone without your name on it and without having to show your ID?

First off I am so sorry to hear that happened to you. And I'm glad that you did great handling it.

Second thing, you can go to walmart, dollar general, anywhere like that and buy a prepaid phone for really cheap that your can just put a bit of time on. Your name shouldn't show anywhere but test it and make sure. If it does just call customer service. They can take care of it for you.
