i'm totally new and haven't taken the plunge yet. I keep seeing reference to the "2 call system" but have no idea how that works. Can someone please enlighten me and give any other advice to someone looking to make their first appointment?

Do not see providers w/o at least 6-10 reviews, but make sure the reviewers have a significant reviewing history. Do your research, if you don't have VIP membership yet, GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
read every thread a few pages deep into this board. If you have a regional board, you can read non ad-related threads for a few pages too as they might clue you in to regional issues. (in my area, at times there will be a post about the Sheriff is setting busts up in X area. Things like that should raise your level of caution. It's kind of like those color coded threat levels that have been retired.)
