Some bad backgrounds.  Context is important

We really ought to have another discussion board called "Website Advice" dontcha think?

Four questions:
1. Is my font legible or ought I just scrap it?
2. My photos are all self portrait snapshots, for the time being--enough bodyshots?
3. Too late now, but what's the argument in favor of blurring part of your face out?
4. Anyone know how to get to the code in weebly to insert that TER link?

My new site linked below (if they'll let me)

1. It's kinda hard to read.

2. Nice pictures. More body shots would be good.

3. I guess it's so people that know you irl don't recognize you if they happen to come across the site.

yeahhhh, I just figure the internet is huge and it's unlikely anyone is going to "accidentally" end up on my site. Thanks for the input!

The Font-
I would say use it for the titles of the web site and pages (for the pages I would suggest making it a bit bigger if you keep it though as it kind of loses definition at smaller font sizes it seems, or if you are bolding it for that, don't keep the font-weight normal), but go with something like Arial or Times New Roman for the main content.

The Pictures-
They give a fair representation of what you look like, so I see no problem with them.

Blurring-
Anything put online is out there for everyone to see. Right now you may not care if your face is out there, but in the future you might.  With clients and random site visitors grabbing pics to save, and robots archiving sites (one beauty of having your own site on your own server is a robots.txt file), those can stay forever.

TER Badge-
When you get the link to your TER Badge it gives you the code to link to it.  I have never used a Webbly site, but I think it should be as easy as putting that code in, the same as you would put in any link, except instead of putting words for the link between the opening and closing tags, you put the image link there.

Some bad backgrounds.  Context is important

I agree the font is fine for your name on the main page, and the ENTER button, and also for the menu options. Reading anything, such as "About Me" is tedious.

I like the photos... and it's never too late to blur the face, well at least at this stage in the game... I also see no reason for pro photos, butif anything, they should not replace too much of what you have. The "fair representation" is pretty important, IMO.

ANOTHER board? ... for website advice? I'd never have seen your post there, only here in the Newbie forum.

1. Font: It's different, but OK.

2. Photos: Informative, presumably real and accurate. I do like the casual approach. With such good material to work with, I suspect your professional pictures will be spectacular. OK. If you're fishing for compliments, you got 'em: you are very pretty! But we'll have to wait for a reviewer to authenticate.

3. Blurring: If you really are Ivy edge-a-muh-cated then you know that Ivy guys are just as horny as (hornier than?) any other guy anywhere and might be perusing TER from their Ivied Ivory Towers (cf., un-ivied cinderblock single story warehouses).

4. Code: No clue.

To answer your web-question, I'm going to guess Dora Maar. The clue was your gallery picture (row 3, column 3) which sort of resembles one of her works under the title "Enfant faisant le poirier sur le sable". Very subtle. Am I correct? What do I win? Do I get to name my own prize, 'cause I know what I'd ask for, rebecca bernhart :-) ?

I think your plans might be a bit ambitious given your time lines. You're new; you have no reviews; you are asking premium-level donations in the midst of a bad economy in a city with no shortage of more economical services; you need to reserve your place in school sometime soon and get yourself TO school (overseas) by September; although you hope for returning clients / multiple dates, anyone seeking a LTR might be reluctant to try to establish a close connection that will have to end when you go off to grad school. And if someone slips the envelope into a book they enjoyed and it happens to be a LIBRARY book, there's going to be a hefty fine to pay when you whisk it off to Europe and it ends up months overdue!

It's kind of hard for me to tell if you and this whole thing is real or not or if you're hoping that someone WILL see it and pay your tuition and not cut you off or who knows what.

Regardless, good luck with whatever you do in and out of the industry!

I'm in a similar situation as you...subtract the Ivy League and add more wanderlust and that'd be me. I have a pretty useless degree in Art History from a no name state school and I'm definitely going to Istanbul, Turkey in August to teach ESL. If you ever end up in Austin, Texas we should hook up...and I mean that however you wish to take it ;)

Ok, advice:

1) I'm on a brand new Sony Vaio and have high speed internet yet your page took too long to load IMHO. I like that you personalized it a lot but I think adding all the custom html slowed things down.

2) I understand where you were going with your font and I can see it just fine...Albeit, I'm not an aging man with possibly bad eyes who's trying to find a date online before his wife or boss catches him in the act. If it were me I'd try to keep the style and general vibe but change the font to something clearer.

3) I knew NY was expensive but whoa at your rates. Not that you aren't worth every penny and then some but the bottom line is this is a real business and I don't know if you can consistantly get clients to pay those rates right now. I guess it comes down to how bad you need the money...if you could take it or leave it and this is more of an experiment than the way you plan to keep a roof over your head then just go for a few really big spenders. Personally, I was making 500 per hour at an agency and thought I could get 400 per hour as an Indie and I've had to drop my rates considerably(200-350 per hour is what I'm working with now)just to build a client base. It hurts my ego and it sucks! LOL

Don't get discouraged, at the end of the day you've got what boys want and they WILL pay to get it!  :)

1. hmmmm, good to know--it loads instantly for me, so I had no idea it was slow for first time visits.

3. yeah, I'm within mid-range for this area for longer dates--the high 1hr rate is meant to say loud and clear that it's not my preference. Im certainly not going for volume as I'm not relying on it for my bread and butter. One 4 hour date should be enough for the month.

Thanks for the encouragement! A lot of people are suggesting agencies--why did you decide to go indie with so much agency success? Pm me?

Hey :)

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond...I've been settling things up with my website/escorting stuff and working...yay!

I decided to go indie when I realized I could do everything the agency was doing via the internet and would have more control over the situation from start to finish AND last liklihood of any unfortunate encounters with law enforcement. One little girl with a website isn't nearly as fun to the cops as busting a "prostitution ring".

About your rates...keep in mind that you might not want to ask the guys here about what's "fair" since they spend lots of time researching this stuff and look at cute young girls all day so they've become much more desensisitized to our feminine charms than the average client. It's always best to start kinda high and then offer a special of some sort if you like the guy or need the money...it's a lot easier to go down than it is to go up.

I'd totally pm u but can't cuz  I'm not a paid member...get in touch with me through my contact form, leave me ur yahoo or aim sn and we can chat.

XOXOXO

Erotic Emily

The two of you (Rebecca and Emily) are both very attractive: pretty AND smart AND very interesting. But I'll probably never meet you, singly OR together (now THAT would be something).

But I gotta know: Dora Maar? Am I right? Do I get a prize?

definitely a french surrealist, but was she a lesbian, too?
My gal is another Jew, Claude Cahun (Lucie Schwob) whose life also includes some bizarre episodes as an anti-Nazi activist in the occupied channel islands and some strange, beautiful writing.

Pictures, ... Not to great, but for a beginner ok to begain with. Pictures also dont justify with the cost. I only see a young girl.. Nothing in the pics show i could take this young girl out on a date and she would fit in. ... And the price your asking.. should justify

Price. - For someone with no reviews and starting out, way to much. Unless you do this for fun and dont need the cash. You may get the newbee bites.. But after that.. Your cost dont explain the experience. Start lower 6 month raise the rate.. and continue until you are happy with where you are. :)

Other than the sites ok. Could be better could be worst.

From looking up more Maar info, "[She] returned to her previous social circle, which included famous society hostesses and art patrons." To a horny guy, several beautiful yet inaccessible women hanging out together are easily explained away as being lesbians.

Your hand-stand picture was a clever red herring!

Now that the contest is over and I didn't win, will you say whether or not the prize was one hour with you?

(I know you're taking a lot of criticism about your rates. I'll be watching to see if you make an adjustment that I can be comfortable with. With no reviews, I don't see why you think someone would jump at a four-hour date without having tried to get to know you for one hour, first.)

On the font:
Scrap the font.  Your site is better then 99% of other girls sites, but I never want to struggle to read text on a site. You can keep your font different, but not hard to read.

Photos:
You have plenty of photos and plenty of bodyshots.  You don't need XXX photos to attract men.

Face blurring:
Probably a good idea, just for privacy.  You have a great face and haircut, so I would try just a small blur in the center of the face or just over the eyes. Your youthful look is maybe your best feature, so keep the blurring as minimal as possible.

On your rate (I know you didn't ask for this, so just take this as my opinion):

NYC is the highest rate market in the USA, but also one with a large supply. Take a look at the agency Apres Vous (http://www.apresvous.com/thegirls.asp) and see what they are charging.  These girls travel to lower rate markets, but they are all educated and attractive like you.

You are showing too many close up facial shots. The shots of you from a distance are keepers, they give a hobbyists a good idea of your looks and figure. It is not too late to remove or blur the close facial shots. Use one of the distance shots on your main page instead of the close up facial. You're want to do other pursuits after you're done providing to hobbyists.

Since November I've probably visited 200+ escort sites and I think your site may be the 2nd (or 1st) most creative, original, and refreshing site I've seen.

It feels so honest and girl next door like. No annoying frills.  Just the goods. I really wouldn't ask you to change anything.  But for your own safety and future family and work life, you probably should blur out the photos.  But I really like your facial expressions and head poses.  I think they would get a lot of guys to actually initiate contact where they might not have otherwise if you had only body shots.

Yeah, maybe the rate is too high like the others say, but if there's a market for it, who cares what those who aren't the ones paying think?

I read your "Grad School" post you made a week ago on your blog.  You are a very brave soul.  I wish you the best of luck.

I'm one of those older guys with bifocals.  Your text font is fine but could be a bit larger.  The font used for headings is great.

With the pictures you've got why would you want a "professional" photographer? Your own photos are young and fresh. Don't replace them with slick photos against a phoney backdrop that screams commercial.  It's not like you pointed your cell phone at a mirror.

Your face shots are a double edged sword.  They are by far your best feature; they scream fresh and wholesome. That classical nude shot is also pretty good.  But putting your face on the internet is a bit like getting a tattoo. Once it's there it's there forever.

I'd kill the blog.  Far too much information.  And the picture you paint of yourself on the blog, starving intellectual, is in direct conflict with the image you are seeking of a quality courtesan worthy of very high end prices.

On the other hand, maybe the whole thing is to make a show of "trying" to get into the business without really doing it.  Maybe that will dear old dad to rethink giving his little girl some financial encouragement with her education.  (From my own perspective as a Jewish father and grandfather I have no greater ambition in life than to help my kids--all of now have graduate degrees--and my grand kids get all the eduction they can.)  By the way, Jew and Jewish should always be capitalized.

HUm, Yes now that you said it .. I went back and read the blog.. and something isnt right .. Or off ? Posting about school money etc is far to much info. This world is PRIVATE-if you see a client are you gong to blog about it ? And the part about only having 500 dollars.. Are you asking people  to feel sorry for you. How many people know about this webpage ? Are you public. You have to think about this because if a client wants to take you somewhere .. People will know who you are, If its a public...( all my friends know ) Website.

Flags just started going off... Strange.. Very strange.

IMHO I loved the tenor of your site.  You captured your youthful zest which is an appealing quality.  Stick with your pics.  But consider some blurring to protect you and your loved ones.
Perhaps TMI in your blogs.  The hobby is a world of discretion.  Save some of that great material for chatting filler on a date.
Your girl next door looks and zaniness (head stand pic) are pluses in my book.  Wish you were a bit closer to compare the reality of you with your online version.
Best wishes!
