I've had mixed messages regarding this subject. Or perhaps it's my own mixed feelings.

Is it better to advertise, pre-book and then get the room, or get the room and THEN advertise and book?  

My "fear" over not getting the room first is that a suitable room may not be available when it comes to the day and times I've booked.  Granted, after the holidays that isn't as likely until summer (conventions and such).  Is this a baseless fear?

Also, since I meet with my new clients first (I've noticed that those who have called me for bookings in my area - Eugene /Springfield - refuse to give references), is it better to meet them days before the appointment or on the day?  If they bring on my spidey sense, I'd hate to have to refuse him on the day of his appointment.

It really doesn't matter when you book the room since you can cancel the reservation with no penalty usually up to 6pm on the day it starts.
If you use priceline or other discount booking services you may not have the cancellation option so in that case I would wait until the day of.

As far as seeing guys who refuse to be verified this is dangerous and a very bad idea.

Regarding question 2, I understand and appreciate your concerns about referrals and verification before meeting; I even agree with the concept.  

However, you (and everyone else reading this thread) need to accept that in my PERSONAL experiences are the only indication I have to go by.  For me, in MY city, only one man was willing to give references or verifiable info.  Not all cities do things the same way as other cities; smaller cities tend to ignore the niceties of larger cities.

OTOH, prospective clients aren't the least bit shy about sending me photos of themselves.  They're also quite willing to meet me in a neutral setting like a coffee shop. If they pass my initial phone or email impressions, then we meet. Once we're talking over coffee, I pay attention to the rest of my senses. I turn down those who set off my internal alarms.

I know this ISN'T the ideal solution for most providers.  However, it works for me in lieu of no business at all.  

So, I would appreciate it immensely if you'd please stick to responding to the questions I asked.

You need to expect people to comment on everything in your post.

BostonGuy is much nicer than me, if you were to respond to me by stating "stick to responding to the questions I asked", my response would probably be along the lines of "fuck off then" I know you tried to state it politely, but there is no way to say what you did politely.

If she didn't want anyone to comment on her screening methods (or lack thereof) she should have kept them to herself. Maybe I am just getting curmudgeonly in my old age, but I lose all desire to help people who respond that way to people who are not only trying to help, but who are immensely qualified to do so.

I will answer your entire post. It may seem like I am going around your answer, but it will solve your entire issue. Providers have been arrested for "showing up for coffee" to get a spidey sense of who they are dealing with. You need to connect the dots.

dot 1:

Screen the gents

The more nods, vouches, stars....or whatever the man has connected to his hobby life, the better your chances are they are serious hobbyist who will not waste your time.

Try joining a few verification sites....and all the alert sites you can find. You will attract men who are pre-screened, instead of men who are not willing to submit any information. You will also be able to track all the time wasters who will contact you.

Get yourself verified...join your local hobby sites.....seek out providers help both in and our of your area. I will be MORE than willing to help you out.

Being a verified provider means you will get better clients who can take you seriously.

Your membership will also net a better quality of serious hobbyist which will mean you can indeed get your room first. The odds of a seasoned hobbyist pulling a no call no show are very slim.

Advertising! better ad placement attracts better clients who want to play safely and won't waste your time.

Most of the verification sites allow you to put up advertisements. So people who are near you will know you are legit yourself.

References.....this is crucial and will only work out nice IF YOU ARE NICE!

We all have been new and a little overwhelmed by clients who may themselves be new or unaware of how to schedule a safe session. One of the processes you may have to go through is calling another provider for a reference. If you are anything like you are in this post, you may get hung up on. Providers fight like cats all the time everyday, however for the most part we depend on each other to keep the entire community safe. No one wants to deal with a lady who has a horrible disposition. You are not nor will you EVER be on an island. So retract the claws and play nicely.

Meeting a guy for coffee a few days, a few hours or a few minutes before you put yourself alone in a room with him does not guarantee that he is not a cop, a thief or a killer.  For your sake I hope the first time you get burned it's just a cop.

My experiences have been vastly different than many of the providers here.  No references given to check, no provider status allowed due to no reviews despite having regulars, and no sister providers to talk to make for a frustration that wasn't meant to come out.

Again, I apologize for the unintended biting.

Dot 1.you get the room.. don't screen and then cool your heels in the hotel room and wonder why noone showed up.

Dot 2. Suite yourself..don't screen..meet jack the ripper at Starbucks..get a room and let the police figure out who you are and what happened to you.

Dot 3. Don't screen then Meet John Law at starbucks
have coffee then proceed to the room  then go directy to jail.

Dot 4. You don't screen then walk in 10 min prior to your appointment with a client to get a room,hotel clerk sees this and reports the suspicious activity to LE....again...go straight to jail

Dot 5. When you get out of jail the hospital etc..you figure out that..A..Screening is your friend... B..Providers are a great resource for screening.. if you do not completely alienate them
C.Cops LOVE COFFEE !!!

This is a public board, Many people with many opinions will respond To you post with info- Some of it you will not like.. Some you will. Must you will need to heed and listed and learn from.

Not checking who you are seeing is setting your self up. Who cares if you live in a small town where men dont want to give info- You make them.You set your rules, People who respect that will see you those who dont.. DONT. A few extra hundred a day or week.. WILL never be worth me sitting in jail, OR in a room with a man who wants to gut me like a fish.. Damn that!

It just seems that way because it is happening to you.

I live in Las Vegas and I get knuckle heads who play games with the screening. So do ladies from massage only gals to porn stars.....NYC, LA, Miami, Chicago ect... No matter who the lady is, how much she charges, or where she is based, we all get knuckle heads who want to play games with the screening. A lot of times they will refuse just to test you. Once you get really serious about playing safely, you will find yourself getting clients who will not risk seeing ladies who don't screen.

There are always men who don't want to be screened. You have to skip them and continue to do so. Either they will get with the program or seek a provider who does not screen. Those are not the type clients you want anyway.

I understand your being frustrated because you feel you do not have anyone to talk to. WELCOME TO TER. The ladies are 130,000+ strong! Someone will help you. We are from every region in the US....if you look hard enough there may be well established ladies near you. If not you can always stay in touch with reputable ladies from anywhere in the US.

Some of the ladies who are in smaller markets often tour to increase their client following.
