It can take at least 24hr to see your post unless you have unmoderated privileges.  This privilege is gain by having a good posting history. For myself, I prefer being moderated.  A least once, it saved me from embarrassing myself or my moniker by letting my Latin temper get the better of me.

Until they show cooth, etiquette and know the rules of the board.. Depends how frequent you post as well.
