I knew the risks, but had the little head get the better of me. I am a newbie obviously, and this event will make an honest man out of me moving forward, but I still need to address this before I move on.
My brothers in the hobby, I am asking for advice, because I just noticed something that looks like (a) boil on my genitals. I don't want to go through my doctor and medical insurance with fear that my wife may find out, not to mention that my primary physician is a female.  Are there any confidential clinics out there I can go to to help me? I'm in southern california area. I know that all medical records are confidential in nature, but everytime I go to see the doctor, something comes in the mail that says I was there to see the doctor. I don't want questions to come up.

I'm sure that I am not the only guy that this has happened to.  What have you done to resolve this problem?  Anyone have any ideas on what I may have conracted??

I also get something from the insurance co after seeing my doctor, but it just mentions the charges and how much I have to pay versus the insurance co, and does not get into the nature of the visit.

In any case, get to a doctor ASAP.  You could do some research on line to find a clinic that is confidential.

By the way, I had this very symptom many, many years ago.  I went to the ER and a female doctor took a look at it.  She didn't know what it was, so she invited every other medical staffer in the whole ER dept to come in and look at my cock.  I think the janitor was in there too.

Finally one doctor said: "it's just a pimple folks, lance it, bandage it and get this guy out of here."

If the MD is competent, her gender shouldn't make a bit of difference. Docs see scores of these in a month. NBD just see a doc; get Tx and relieve your anxiety.  Last time I checked, that's what docs are supposed to do quickly, efficiently. And the longer you wait the more chance you could involve your wife or any other concommitant sex partners (which no one would want to do)if it were an STD that could be transmitted so why are you procrastinating?

1) Just get rid of the anxiety and see a competent MD now. Gender doesn't matter.
2) Don't expose any sexual partner(s) until you get it Dx'd and treated appropriately.
3) Why in the world are you waiting?  Docs see scores of these week in and week out.  Minimize your anxiety now and the chance to transmit it if it can be and it may not be.
4) Last time I checked that's what docs are for.

Could be something, could be nothing. No way to tell. There are anonymous clinics in almost any major city, so do a search and find one that suits your needs.

I just started using CheckMyMate. It's kind of like a p411 for STD's. It is not a 100% guarantee, but better than slapping on a rubber (not 100% effective) and hoping for the best, which I think is crazy given the realities of this lifestyle, combined with basic STD facts and statistics. It cuts down my choices but gives me greater peace of mind.

You have received some good advice, take it. The best way to relieve your anxiety is to get in to a Doc immediately. Then you'll know what you're dealing with.
  A couple of thoughts....If you really don't want to see your primary Doc then virtually every county has a health clinic that deals with loads of std cases all the time. Secondly, Planned Parenthood has clinics that also deal with lots of std testing and treatment. PP is where I get my tests run periodically. They have an option where you can call for results and they do not send anything to your home. You can pay in cash so no paper trail.
  Get in and be seen ASAP! You for damn sure don't want to spread anything to your SO or anyone else. Things like Molluscum contagiosum, genital warts (HPV) etc are extremely contagious. Until you get diagnosed, keep your hands off the area and be fastidious about hand washing. You may be lucky and a Doc says it's nothing to worry about but until you're examined by a Doc you won't know.

my Urologist's team had several FM doctors...  I was on immune suppressing medication which is how I got into this situation.  Nothing to do with hobbying...  an e-coli infection as most are.  They put on gloves did their exams & that was that...  ended up on IV antibiotics.  So you have nothng to fear from FM doctors...  just avert your eyes so you're not looking down their shirt during the exam!
Seriously, this is probably nothing.  Don't freak out until you know something positive and you won't until your test results come back.   Don't wait.  

BTW a UTI...  guys can get them too...  makes a good cover story if you need one.  Didn't your Mama tell you to wash your hands before handling yourself!  

Why in the world would you want to have a primary physician that would make you uncomfortable if she had to take a look at your package?  Don't you get a yearly physical with a prostate exam?  My primary is a male, but I would have no problem with a female.  There is nothing sexy about having a female examine your junk if you ask me.  They are professionals and have seen it all.  But if it bothers you, switch.  Nothing is worse than a negative incentive to see your physician....especially when you think you have something that needs to be treated.

#2, explain your situation to whoever you see.  Tell them you would like to the explanation of benefits (that's usually what you get in the mail if you have insurance) or bill to go to another address (and give it to them).  Tell them that it's a one time deal and they can use your regular address moving forward.

They are professional health care providers and YOU ARE PAYING THEM (or insurance is).  If you think this is the first time they have run into someone like you, you are insane.

As a very wise person once told me, "Put on your big boy pants and get it done."  You screwed up....own it and fix it.

So far, I have been lucky, but you can see that I am prepared for the worst. If you are paranoid like me then you should also make other preparation if you plan to continue in this hobby. There's risk is everything we do. That doesn't mean we should stop doing everything that we enjoy. One should know risk and be prepared. Maximize the enjoyment and minimize the risk. I am also prepared for possible legal trouble. You should have your bail bondsman's number with you and attorney selected. It's much too harder to do anything when you are in jail.

A favorite provider told me this story...  
So Mr Client gets an ichy rash on his privates & immediately panics...  calls Ms Provider & all but blames her (she plays very safe & is sure she's not the source of his woes.)  
Mr C loses his mind, confesses all to his wife.  She kicks him out & at last word they were getting a divorce.

I always go to PP to get everything checked.  I like to go every three months, but it's been as long as 6 months between visits before.  I've never had anything.  Ever.  And I participate in GFE activities.

Newbies are especially concerned about contracting an STD.  The truth is, they are uncommon in the hobby.  This is an assumption, but it must be true, because I have never had anything, and I've only heard from two hobbyists who contracted something.  As time goes on and you have your fun without getting an STD you begin to relax.

It's important to be familiar with the different STDs, how they are spread, what their symptoms are, and how they are treated.  Take a look at a pussy or a cock.  It's okay to take a good look at it.  Make sure everything looks and smells normal.  And if it doesn't, you can take precautions and skip the GFE stuff.

And guys, please don't freak out and tell your SO what you think the problem is.  I did have one client who thought he had an STD and was so concerned that he'd given it to his wife that he confessed everything and it turned out to be a false alarm!  Don't forget, even in the unlikely event you do get something, and she does too, it's always possible that she might think she got it from someplace else.  Maybe she did.  Maybe you got it from her.  You never know for sure.  So just be cool under pressure.

you already got more answers than you probably needed but here goes mine. I saw a provider and she did BBBJ. I had never had anything bare so I was freaking out afterwards. For the week following (I was on a biz trip) I kept on "feeling" something... I was freaking out thinking I got something. As soon as I got home I went to an immediate care clinic and told my wife I thought I had a UTI (to avoid having sex w/her). Went to the clinic and the doc asked if I had had any contact with a different partner which I had to answer yes. He was super cool about it and gave me two antibiotics. He said if I had ghono, Chlamydia or even Syphilis, this would take care of it. Couple days later they called me to get my lab results (they're required by law not to give them out by phone) and found out I didn't have anything.

You are right, the insurance sent a notification of claimed services and thank god my wife didn't open the mail or I would have heard it. I just teared up the thing but yes, be aware of this.

I researched a little and turns out sometimes the flora in her mouth is strong enough that it messes up with your penis PH and that makes you feel all weird. Also, the chemicals on the condom or the wipe she used to clean me could have had a strong thing in it that made me feel the "itch"... who knows. I'd say next time go CBJ if you'd rather save the headache of the paranoia! (I'm on the same boat)
