I see people talking about tineye and google images. I am a provider new to this area. A potential client sent me a photo how do I check it out on these sites? Will it give me a name? How does this work?

Thanks

Both Tineye and Google images search the web for other places that the image is posted.  It is very helpful for verifying whether provider photos are real or copied from some other site.  Scammers often "steal" photos from all over the place, including other providers, and these tools will show you all the other places a photo is found online so that you can match it to the data you were given.  For example, if a photo was posted in a provider ad and is then found on a site that belonged to or was identified as someone else, then you would know it was a bogus ad. So, unless your client has a web presence it may not help you in that regard because it won't be found.  Maybe if the photo he sent is on FaceBook or some other social site, it will show up.  Just open Google, then click on Images in the toolbar.  You can copy and past a URl for the photo, or just drag and drop the photo from a location on your computer.
