Pay Phone?

Hi everyone, I am an up and coming local provider. I am being contacted by a potential friend who has provided references from another state and is calling from a pay phone repeatedly. I am wondering why he doesn't at least have a cell phone if he can afford to book a date with me (LOL)and I am curious if any one else agrees? He says he lives with relatives and moved here a year ago...does this seem a little strange? I'm just looking for perspective...anything will help. THX!

He could be rich and eccentric, a communications technophobe or a penurious time wasting crank.
I know a well known provider who does by request porno videos for a very rich eccentric in Europe who contacts her exclusively by pay phone.
Conversely my ATF won't take any new clients lacking cell phone accessibility.

Pardon the pun; but it's your call

Strange it is.. but most men dont want any traces of  a providers number on any of their phones... no it wont show on the bills.. But it is on record.. and it is in their outgoing calls for the day... and so on....

contact the references.. whats the problem.. make sure his refs have a site and an email and a well known girl.. basically screen the refs as well.

While it is rare today, some people don't have a cell phone because of peace & serenity. Why should it set-off a red flag that is worrisome? If you did a background check and have home phone and/or email address, what difference does it make?  I certainly can afford a cell phone but have never owned one. I am under the age of 35.

Though it may seem strange in this day and age; some people just don't like and have no desire to own a cell phone. In my case, my company issued me a phone which I refused to use for hobby activity for fear the numbers would be questioned by my employer. Eventually, after a couple of years of hobbying, I broke down and bought a really cheap prepaid disposable cell; and haven't used it for anything but hobby and emergency use. However, I did just fine during those years of calling from the payphone in hotel lobbies when arriving for my incall dates.

It's still difficult for me to believe just how much the cell phone has become a part of our daily life; and how so many people are completely dependent on it.

...essential for hooking up with most providers.  At the point, I used a pay phone because me SO did look at the bills just to see if we were being overcharged...figured better not to leave traces.
