Pay As You Go Phones

Hello all,

I am just starting to hobby.  Had a great first session with Amber of WH which was arranged via pay phone.

I want to get a "cold" phone.  One of those that do not have a monthly contact.  Based on checking out Best Buy, Staples, Circut City and all there are several to choose from.  I want to get the cheapest phone possible.  They all seem to include the important voice mail and caller id options.  The only trick is that once the phone has been purchased, one must buy a refill of time (regardless off the number of minutes used) every 60 or 90 days.

I imagine a lot of guys here have these "cold" phones.  Any one really like what they have and want to recommend a brand?  Any have one they hate and would suggest not getting a specific brand?

Thanks

look into tracfone

if it expires you don't have to pay a reconnection fee, just get another card and reactivate it online

They also got a deal where you can buy up to a year in advance (you still gotta buy minutes if you run out, though)

I've been using Tracfone for almost three years now and I'm very happy with it.  They have all sorts of different pay as you go plans, and I'm sure you'll find one that suits you.

I have a cold phone. Pay $10 a month and hours roll over & can add more hours for $10, $25 or whatever. Don't know if number can be unblocked as have had  trouble getting replys from some providers.
