P411

As a newbie, it was clear to me from reading this site that P411 was the way to go.
This also helped me to feel more protected, putting a layer between me and any provider I might see (only one so far).
When I filled in the application for P411, I told them a company they could use when they called, thus ensuring their call would not raise an eye, as it was a company which has provided training to mine in the past.  Also, when the message was left for me, there was no doubt to me what this was about, so I made sure to call back.

I am trying to tighten up my screening process. I admit I have been very relaxed when it comes to screening clients. I guess I hate asking people personal questions. I feel the less i know about your personal life the better it is for us both except when it comes to our safety. So my question is what type of questions are okay and what is going over board when it comes down to screening. How do I ask some one to verify there employment? or how do I verify someone and be discreet at the same time? What are appropriate screening methods?

When booking appointments I usually ask Name, contact number including phone # and email, board handles, any references including any links to any reviews you may have written but I feel like I should be asking more especially when the client has no references or write reviews. I hate to decline an appointment due to them not having a reference but maybe I need to start??? Discretion is very important to me but you really can't be discreet when screening a client or can you??

So, if you have to lose clients who don't like your screening methods, so be it.  There will still be plenty of good clients who understand the need for screening, and those are the ones you want to see.

Any of the methods you describe above are good, and it's up to you to decide how many of what type make you comfortable; it's your judgement call.

As for employment, explain that you'll call for the person at work with a ruse like it is your dentist calling to confirm an appointment, or some similar ruse.  I've had gals call all the time doing this and it's never been a problem.

Tell them to join P411, but don't just see them without asking for info. When I screen a client's employment, I don't exactly call his office and say, "Hey, this is London Rayne...you know the hooker you emailed today for an appt." lol. If he is a doc, you say you're a pharm rep. If he is an Attorney, you're a paralegal for an out of state firm. If he is in Real Estate, you want him to show you a listing.

of whom he claims to be, you'll need to verify that. This can be through calling/emailing from the contact info listed on the link he provided.
Verify the website is legit by searching it on this website:
(when was the website created, does the website get a sufficient amount of hits/view each month or does it look dead therefore potentially a fake website...this happens a lot)
http://www.internic.net/whois.html

Verify the company is legit by doing an "entity search" on the "Secretary of State" website in the State that the biz operates.

There's plenty more to learn but that should help you get a start.

Also, consider joining VerifyHim.

Regardless of how you do it, you gotta do it, as mrfisher said, the number one concern is your safety.  PM some of the providers near you and ask what they do.  You are not going to get many girls to answer in the open forum.  London gave you a good way to verify employment w/o raising any suspicions.  When the switchboard operator goes to connect you to Mr. Williams, you just hang up, as you now know he does work there, which is all you need.

The verification sites are good too, but many providers will still want some additional info from the client.  Please, Ana-Lee, don't see smoeone w/o screening, it just ain't worth it.  There are lots of quality guys that will want to see you and provider sufficient screening information.

P411, I wont see them.

Giving personal information without knowing how it's collected or handled is not something I'm willing to do.

Posing this question to anyone who cares to respond. Considering even P411 recommends that ladies check a gentleman's ID upon arrival, what would you think if a P4 member contacted you, gave some information, references, etc. but wouldn't provide his last name?
I've experienced this more than once and find it baffling.

But the whole point to me of joining P411 was not to have to give out personal info to providers.
I'd gladly show you my ID with my last name covered, so you could match it up with my P411#, but no way I'm showing you my last name.  Like many I imagine, I have an uncommon last name, so by showing it to you you could google it and suddenly find out all about me very easily.  For me, it was a big enough leap of faith to trust P411 with my info.  So, at this point I'd only consider seeing providers who would accept that (with provider references or okays too of course).

I can't imagine a provider not accepting P411, especially with REPUTABLE provider references, but some women want to know your full name, no matter what. I am only like that in my home town, for good reason. If the guy is from out of town, I couldn't care less about having his full name.
