Green dot card for online memberships

My dilemma: I bought a green dot card for use in memberships and when I got home with it, I realized that it has to be activated like a CC. You can do it online but you have to provide a name, address, etc. to use it. It ask for a mailing address too. I am afraid to use my real info due to possibly getting info in the mail that's available to SO. I thought the card was anon that you could load and use like a gift card.

1. Is this correct? Is it not anon?

2. I have seen post where others have used fake name and fake address. If I go this route, do I use the fake name and address when signing up for VIP? Will this affect my already existing account or do I have to create a new one?

3. If you have to use the name and address given on the card, how do you get around using it for P411 or screening site if you used fake info?

4. Does anyone know how to work within the green dot system to stay anon?

Thanks for any help.

...Green dot did not work with the CC processors offered on this site :)  Just my experience.

They have a cash option or you may want to try Visa Vanilla Gift cards but the increments are off from what you will need for paying for a month.

The one I use when I want to send money anonymously is called the Money Pack Card.

You pay to load the card up to $500 and then scratch off the number on the back and give it to whomever you are sending the money to.  They must have some kind of account with Green Dot to deposit the money in their bank or whereever.

Whether TER accepts it or not, I don't know, but I sort of doubt it.

Yes, that is the one I have too. You buy the moneypak to refill the Green dot. Up to $500. Very convenient.I bought the Green Dot Bill Pay version (like, I don't really think that matters....) but TER didn't accept mine. It seems someone before said something about the processors are Canadian and that the Green Dot card doesn't connect with them.
