As a provider, I have always favored outcall. However, I seem to notice that many (if not most) hobbyists prefer incall. There are pros and cons to each.

Which and why - and any certain expectations?

I have done both. Outcall since I am not traveling much anymore, means I have to get a room somewhere, which is nice for early morning for me as I can arrive early and relax before she arrives. It also sometimes means I can relax after as well. It does add an additional cost and so if the hobby budget is tight for that week I will pick the same cost lady offering incall. The major advantage of incall besides price is with a new lady (well reviewed so I am not concerned about LE as much) it is lot easier to just pickup and leave if it is not going as well as anticipated. Also outcall since I prefer morning appointments can cause me two trips to the hotel. Once the day before to check in and then again the next morning. With the added pressure of checkout time if we run over. I see one favorite lady almost exclusively outcall and another almost always incall. I can see travelers preferring outcall so they don't have to navigate and for guys in smaller locations with fewer hotels preferring incall so they don't become a regular to hotel staff.

I see you have a naughty streak to you, that can be fun in the right location. I love getting a room early in the afternoon and knowing we are the only people in the wing at that time so noise is not a problem.

It just depends if I run on a fiscal year or calendar year. . . . gives me more room for error!

right location is key

Generally favor incall when I am local.   Saves having to deal with getting a room, and using a credit card to hold it.

If I am traveling, already have the room and outcall is easier.
