Okay so I am new at this...  Read the newbie manual, learned the acronyms, been browsing the discussion boards and taking in all the advice.  I have a trip planned this next week and have been contacting providers to get a couple appointments set up.  In my excitement I have started to get prepared for my appointments.  So, one of the discussion topics was about trimming up the party in my pants.  So, I decide to do that.  Note here that I am no sasquach.  I keep things tamed and decently groomed, but I decide to go the mr clean route here for my upcoming expeditions.  I happen to have a large bottle of Nair that the SO has left at the house.  I get after my business and man does this stuff work great.  I am now newly clean as a baby bum and then...  HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!!  WHY DIDN'T SOMEONE SAY SOMETHING ABOUT IT CAUSING ROAD RASH AND ITCHING LIKE I JUST SLEPT IN A BUSH WITH CHIGGARS!!!!!!!!!!!  I am currently nursing my wounds, walking like I have swamp ass, and trying to clean my complexion so my hobby appointments don't think I have a case of everything under the sun.   ANY REMEDIES WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AT THIS POINT!  HA!!!  Have a good rest of the weekend!

As a provider, I always keep myself shaved, I also had the bright idea of trying nair. Apparently I left it on a bit too long. Terrible burn and rash, I actually had to take a few days off. From now on I'll stick to the razor!

Use gillette shaving gel for sensitive skin with aloe.  That works good for me.  So maybe you just had some reaction to the nair.

I should point out though, when the hair first starts to grow back and is still kind of like stubble, it is pointy and can be irrating.  For me that's when it is the least comfortable.  Either shaved, or grown out...but that middle stage is the irritating one.

I can get it to take of MAYBE 10% of the hair on areas I apply it to, and it leaves a few PERMANENT red dots on my skin.

Other than that, just give it a few days to go down and try not to scratch it - that will only irritate it further and make it worse.

and I thought in-grown hairs from razors were bad!

I use Edge gel shave cream and a Gilette Fusion razor with much success.  I did the original trimming with a Phillips Body Groomer before shaving.  I only shave before a date, so there is no stubble.

Sorry I don't know of something to cure your road rash.
