Hi all!
new here and love the service..
I heard about Big Doggy.
How does that compare to TER?

OldPappy10449 reads

In my humble opinion, TER is by far the best I have ever seen.
This site is so easy to navigate and I enjoy it a bunch.
BUT...be sure to become a VIP member to hear "the rest of the story".
Just an old guys .02...

You can find a shortcoming if you look hard enough, but this site is very, very good.  I have not made any mistakes when I have used the review information contained here correctly. I have no comparisons to other sites because I had previously never used a review site, but I am happy here so why even look elsewhere.

I find it very confusing to navigate on this site

What parts confuse you? Maybe we can help.

My take:  each has it's place.

TER has better reviews and profile information, and a better way to sort and filter the data to get just what you are looking for.

TBD has message boards that are much more lively then the boards here.

I suppose that depends on what region of the US you are in.

thirsty

I can't argue with that assessment.  I read both boards and only look at the DC, Maryland and Virginia Public Board and the DC Private Board there.  Compared to the DC board here it is much more lively.

The Review system here is much better though, and by comparison, probably more active in numbers.

When I first came here, the TER Boston board was a ghost town. People didn't like the atmosphere on TBD Boston so they made their own cyber community here. I'm seeing a similar situation with the TER Canadian boards right now. Locals complain about the more popular boards in their region. One possible solution is to get involved on the boards here and try to make your presence felt on the TER boards.

thirsty

Atlanta is my home board and it is 1000% better than TBD anyday of the week. Much of that is due to the occasional guidance given by "THIRSTY".

Now and then I try to "stir the pot," to give people a reason to post. As I mentioned, I'm trying to light a fire on the Canadian boards. One local complained that I'm trying too hard (posting too much). My response, (which he agreed with) "Hey, at least I got you to post. ;)"

thirsty

TER is for the most part better, if I could only go to one site, this would be it.  If TER had state-by-state boards, I'd never even go to the other site..

Members only state boards would be even better... :)

...........is not having a discussion board for my region.

HOUSTON....H-town...."Hobbytown USA."

Does anybody have a suggestion on who to contact about this?
I've already tried the "suggestion" board, and my suggestion
was either lost or ignored as it was never posted.

I would appreciate any helpful answer on this.

I also tried the suggestion board, in response to someone else's post on 2/9.  Mine was also *misplaced*, I guess, because I sent it off the 10th and never heard from it again.

Can we pleeeeeease have a Houston board?
We'll be good, I promise.

Okay,if I can't have a Houston board,can I possibly have
a TEXAS board?

The saddest thing in the world is an empty message board.  Until I see a bunch of people requesting a particular area, I usually do not build a board.  It seems we have some real interest in TEXAS.  Here you go!
