Had a meeting set; was going to be my first time in the hobby. The night before I got a "can we reschedule" email. She's agreed to a date I suggested a couple of weeks for now. But am I wasting my time?

And if anyone has a good newbie-friendly recommendation in DC/Maryland I am interested.

Thanks guys.

Reschedule and see, if you want to see her badly enough.  There are a host of acceptable reasons why she had to cancel, but at least she let you know in a professional manner.  The night before is plenty of notice.  And it's always acceptable to have a backup plan ready, though this does not mean double-booking and then cancelling on one of them.  Just have someone in mind and get in touch with her right away.  Agencies are good for last-minute dates, so get pre-screened by one first.

Maybe a real life emergency came up or just something more important. Of course, you may have been bumped for a regular or a longer appointment as well. Only the lady in question truly knows the answer ... you will never know for sure. At least she didn't NCNS you or cancel while you were on the way to see her.

This is something you will just have to deal with in the hobby world. Sometimes they bump us, sometimes we cancel on them. I'm always willing to give someone a second chance. If it happens again the next time or more then a few times over a long period of time, I just move on. There are always plenty of other ladies on my "to do" list.

You should try the regional boards for suggestions on other ladies.

for that "reschedule" email. Most of the time it's because they found a cheaper, available option but they should have thought of that before going through the screening process. It is possible your girl found a better paying offer, or she just got spooked. Move on.

wait and see her response. All kinds of things can happen to cause a reschedule. At this point I see no reason to think everything isn't on the up and up. I never assume from the first that something is fishy. Give her a chance then base what you think and choose to do on what happens from there. What London says is possible but then again it's just as possible that it's legitimate.  I say wait and see.

I apprecaite the advice, and it's comforting. Will see if the second appointment sticks.

The story has a happy ending. Reschedule took place and it was nice.
