As a newbie researching the hobby, I have substantial security concerns...to the point of being slightly paranoid. I plan on utilizing a hobby phone with a false name and a hobby email through one of the major free sources (gmail, yahoo, etc).
Is it possible / advisable to join one of the major verification sites (P411, Date Check) with a fake name as well? I would be willing to provide employment info, my primary security concerns are of a personal nature.
Finally, aside from conducting proper research on providers and staying away from "Sketchy" situations are there other security concerns I'm overlooking?

Either stick with the ladies who do not care about their own safety (nor yours)... Or ome to your senses and realize the ladies are taking significant risk as well. we need Something for our own security, even if simply a third party verification system.
You are under no obligation to give anything, it simply reduces the pool of ladies who will be willing to see you. On the other hand trying to work around what a lady needs is an egrarious (and IMHO unforgivably unethical) disrespect. .02
You need to determine your area of concern and act to minimize the risk. The hobby will NEVER be risk free. A thouhtful approach can minimize the risks. Your computer leaves IP tracks all over the internet... and just did. This is probably not important from a connection you own. If you have a S.O. who starts tracking it might be a problem. You should not acess adult sites from a work computer or ISP unless you own the company & there is no one to out you. Guys have been fired from 6 figure jobs over this not to mention a few assorted governors...
The precautions you mention are very useful if you have a S.O. & need to keep your phone & e-mail free of tracks.
Choosing well reviewed providers helps to minimize the risk of LE but more important helps you to avoid the numerous ripoffs & scams. All review sites are not created equal... follow the money! If a site is provider driven, then the reviews are less trustworth. TER is client driven... we pay... so the reviews tend to be more reliable. When you get to selecting a meeting partner, you'll need VIP. You DO need to read the complete reviews to know if the menu really is what you want... and that services were as advertized. The cost of VIP is way less than the cost of even one spoiled date or wasted opportunity. Been there, done that!!
You really should read the Newbie manual (link in red on the top of this page... and read back several pages on this board until you can answer every question yourself.
