I got an appointment coming soon with a provider  - is it OK to ask for recent pix just to make sure she looks like what's on her website?  (No blurring, all great photo shots, pix seem about 1-2 years dated, based on her debut).

I'm pretty sure 2 years isn't enough to drastically change their looks; I just want to know if it's cool to ask them for a quick preview.  (maybe she got into a tractor accident her mug is beyond repair etc etc. )  I just want to know if it's a proper etiquette, since I'm quite new at this kind of thing.

PM her most recent reviewers, if you have concerns.  

Just because she's been around awhile, does not mean her photos aren't recent.  Many ladies update their pics every few months or so.  

I haven't updated mine since last November, which is naturally because I've morphed into a rhinoceros in the  intervening months and don't want anyone to be the wiser.

I've seen this come up a few times and you are gonna get all kinds of opinions on this. I've even seen providers say they don't mind at all and send them when asked. I think if all the ladies were polled the majority would say don't do that.

I have no opinion, I'm pretty new too, but dude that was funny. I'm picturing an escort on a tractor playing a game of chicken with Kevin bacon.

First of all, if you've been following someone's ads for a while and you know that the pics might be stale, I think it is OK to ask about more recent pics ... politely. (I can think of some portfolios that were done using daguerrotype and they haven't been updated since the Civil War.)  

Second of all, it is frequently discussed here how unfulfilled expectations is often worse than reality itself. If I've been fantasizing about that long silky red hair and I show up to find a purple tipped pixie cut black hair, no matter how cute or how hot it is, I've been thrown off. I'm fine with the punk or suicide girl look, but I want to know about it in advance. So, I can ask, if I want.

If she has different looks in her ads (hair color, length, tattoos) you could ask about her current look or even ask for a PIC of her current look. If recent reviews refer to differences, you can say you want to know about her current look - you don't need a whole portfolio, just a pic.

As Debs said, you can PM recent reviewers for updates on her current look ... although Debs disagrees with me about asking about the current look.

EDIT: Maybe not obvious from the above: I have usually already made a decision to see someone and the request about current appearance is more about realistic expectations rather than "If the current pics aren't good enough for me, no date."  I can think of only one meeting where the pics were old and off that I actually chose to leave; she was OK with my decision because she knew that the pics were WAY off from her actual appearance.

I could try to be objective, but honestly, it's really not likely for me based on my past experiences.  

You see, I've never once had a potential client who asked for updated photos, inquired as to my "current look", or even very politely asked for confirmation that my posted images were indeed an accurate representation of my present appearance...... who didn't turn out to be either a time-waster or a nit-picky PITA.

Either they hem and haw, asking for more and more pics or detailed descriptions, only to either never book in the first place or they wind up cancelling, never to be heard from again.

Worse, they do show up and then proceed to ask me to twirl around, or parade back and forth like a runway model while he checks out he merchandise...... all BEFORE presenting the envelope, of course.  
And they make comments too: oh you're taller than I thought!.... you're not tan like in the pics!.... I really hoped you'd be wearing your hair like in the photos from February of last year!.... and so on, and so forth.  
Every damn one of them did shit like that.  

After the first time that happened, and I foolishly played along,  the few other such offenders I've encountered were promptly shown the door.

So now, when someone asks me if they can see recent photographic evidence of my "current look" or asks me ANYTHING other than a simple reassurance that I am indeed the chick pictured on my site.... I pass.  
Because those who have gone before have ruined it for what might simply be nervous newbies who need their bait-and-switch fears assuaged.  

Obviously these past demeaning experiences are coloring my judgment, actions,  and now my advice to you.  

So please feel free to ignore the words of this far-too-jaded provider.

However, it's always a possibility that the lady you wish to meet might have had similar experiences, and thus share my opinions about such requests.  So no matter how you choose to phrase your questions or request:  tread very, very lightly.  

Here's what I'd like to know: WHY do you think her photos are 1-2 years old?  Does it say so on her site/ads?  Have reviewers mentioned this?

Yeah, I'm definitely going to see her - just was curious since her recent picture in 2016 January, she had a straight, velvet like hair that flowed down like a waterfall as opposed to her website pictures, which had permed, fluffy, gorgeous curls 2 years ago. (Both are very hot)

I just want to know WHY it'd be a no-no to ask a provider for a recent picture.  At this point, it's more like I asked for an aged ribeye from a New Zealand grass fed beef and I got an aged ribeye from Australian grass grazed cow.  =)

Also agreed on asking since I'm paying for this?  Any thoughts from provider side to shine a light here?

I'm just razzing you, but seriously, it's far more likely that she has naturally curly/wavy hair which she sometimes styles into a mass of curls, while other times she straightens it.

If you prefer one hairstyle over the other: mention THAT.  I've had guys ask me to wear my hair a certain way, and I don't mind them asking at all.    

I don't usually grant such requests, but that's just me.  :shrug:

Yes, I DO prefer certain hairstyle but then again, don't want to hassle the gal to suddenly change it up when she finally got her groove down for the month/day/week etc etc.

Do not ask for recent pics after making the date, you will more than likely end up with a cancelled date. Ask before, and if she does not respond, move on. Two years is not a long time, and more than likely she will look like she does on the website. Maybe her belly has stretch marks from the child she recently had, that is why she hasn't update her site in two years.

Say that I'm looking at an eBay listing (for a dress, maybe). If the seller has posted 12 photos plus measurements and other pertinent details (material, signs of wear, etc), I'm not going to ask the seller to send me a photo of her holding the dress over her head just so that I know it's *really* real...

If, on the other hand, there are only 2 photos and they are grainy and underexposed, and the seller posted NO information about wear and tear or measurements, then I'd likely ask for more pics and info, before I hit 'buy'.

I have personally gone through considerable time/effort to create an informative site (with multiple galleries, stats, etc)... so when/if someone asks me for more photos, I will be a little bit annoyed, and will probably assume that he just wants some extra material for his personal 'spank bank'.  

I only get new professional photos taken every year or so, but I do try to keep it fresh with candids. My look/hair doesn't generally change that much, and professional photo shoots are VERY expensive (1500+ per shoot for a few looks) so it's just not feasible to constantly post new photos... and I don't feel like it's necessary unless something has changed..
