Not verified by provider

Hi folks...I'm a newbie and I just set up my first appointment with a provider.  She is well known in NYC and well reviewed, both on TER and a $Bill's site.  However, when I made the call, she did no screening whatsoever.  Nada.  Just scheduled the appointment (for tmrw).  This struck me as odd.  She doesn't know me...why wouldn't she at least make a cursory effort to verify I'm not LE or some weirdo?
I'm slightly worried.   Is this a red flag?  Maybe a setup?  If she had no reviews or wasn't known, I would definitely stay away, but I'm unsure.   Any advice from you savvy vets would be appreciated.  Thanks!

if she is well known and reviewed in the area.

Its called "Rent-due-Syndrome". Happens end of every month..

That's lesson # 1 for you. Just because the provider says she screens, doesn't mean she always does. Some do.. Some don't. Some say they do, but they don't.

If you are worried, find someone else to pop your "Hobby Cherry".

I am glad you are being safe. I bet you are not 22 like I was ....Young...Dumb and full of cum...

How would a provider typically screen when you show up?  Ask to see ID?  Ask questions to try to gauge if you're FE?

Thanks for the reply.  Maybe she does have "Rent Due Syndrome"....  :)

I found it strange because she didn't ask me anything at all.  I wasn't necessarily expecting a heavy screen, but I figured at the very least she'd ask me what I did for a living and how old I was.  But, like you said, I guess I'm learning that everyone has their own methods.

Some nervousness is totally normal. Even a lot of nervousness, especially for your first time. It is NOT normal for her not to screen you with references or a verification site. That doesnt mean she's LE. She is almost def not. But here is the thing no one can answer but you: if you feel uncomfortable, then really consider cancelling. Note I said uncomfortable, rather than nervous. You arent going to enjoy yourself and you might end up making her very nervous which may lead to a very awkward session. My personal opinion is go to a girl that goes about her job the right way. That will put you at more ease. Ladies that dont screen put everyone at more risk. Of course its your call. Go with your gut instinct. Dont worry about being "in too deep" with her. She'll get over it. She put you in a bad spot to begin with, not your fault. Just my 2 cents.

you would "require" all info. She is putting the guy in question in a bad spot, imo. If he was a seasoned vet, I would have faith in him trusting his instincts but he is very concerned and I would advise him to err on the side of caution.

You didn't give much detail about how the appointment was set.  If you called, she has your phone number.  Even if it is a hobby phone, that is something.  You must have given her some kind of name.  Handle?  Something?  Did you mention that you had seen her reviews?  An obvious clue that you are on some boards.  Anything else?  Not much to be sure, but you would be surprised how much a savy person can find out with minimal info.  Plus, she may have more questions for you when you call to confirm time and location.  Did her reviews mention anything about screening?  You could also PM one of the last guys who reviewed her about their experience.

Have seen several high end ladies who asked for no info. Relax and have fun.

to find anything concrete, unless you used your real name? Even then, a bit hard to prove it's you. Had a guy today claim his name was such and such, and he worked for _____ Law Office. I said, "Ok, will need to verify that so please let me know when you're at work." Funny, no response, because he was full of shit and using another guy's info.

I can google Obama all day long and find out he is the President, but if I don't CALL the White House and speak with HIM, how do I know HE is the one who contacted me? Some women's idea of screening is comical, but I can't tell you for certain what happened in this case. Ask her, and see what she says. I would be curious to know myself lol.

It's not a setup, but you are not visiting someone high-end at all.

So, after I started this thread last night...this morning another review magically appears for the provider I'm scheduled to see.  The review specifically mentions that this provider doesn't screen very carefully.  None of her other reviews mentioned that previously, but by some strange coincidence this one does, the day after I raise the subject!  Creepy.  On top of that, the reviewer that posted has no other reviews.  I think something fishy is going on. I'm going to cancel my meeting with the provider.
Especially since it's my first time, I need to feel absolutely comfortable with the situation. As badly as I wanted to see this provider, this makes me too uneasy.

Go ahead and cancel if you feel you need to. But you are reading WAY to much into the review. What is the basis of your concern? That she may be LE? Fine, dont discuss money with her at all just show up get to know her a little and have some fun. Dont even take out an envelope till after. Technically you have not committed a crime. I know, some will debate that, but the real point I am getting at here is that once the fun starts you can relax and know it is going to be fine. If she starts to go down on you she really isn't going to be LE.

I dont blame you one bit for cancelling. Not in your newbie condition. I keep reading people saying she has "other ways" to screen you. "Magical," "mysterious," "only known to her" ways to screen. What a bunch of bullshit. She is the "business" and he is the "customer." I run a business. Its not "just" my job to land a big sale. Its also a part of my job to make my customer feel comfortable with the sales process, for him/her to have confidence in me/it, so they come back to me again and again and I build a good word of mouth with their friends, family, etc. It was her job not to just screen him, but to to make him feel comfortable with the process and have faith in it, especially if she is highly reviewed and experienced and since he is a newbie. She didnt follow thru with the standard etiquette & protocol and she lost a sale over it. Maybe she will take the time to do her job, her ENTIRE job, right the next time.

Oh yah, this info changes everything.  I would not feel comfortable proceeding if I were you and would cancel also.  Sometimes all we need is one piece of info (that we don't even need to ask for) and we know your wife's horoscope, but this case does not seem to apply to that standard.  There is no room in the hobby for "fishy business."

Yeah, it definitely made me uneasy.  It seemed to be an awfully big coincidence that the review appeared overnight.  I'm not sure what the deal is.   Also, I had PM'd the guys who posted the two most recent reviews for the provider, and neither responded.  So, there could be some phony reviews taking place.  Something just doesn't seem right.

There is certainly no shortage of other providers out there, so I'll keep looking and find a situation that I feel super comfortable with.

I appreciate all the feedback from others in this thread!

Thanks for all of your advice.  Like you said, as a newbie I'm going to be naturally nervous as it is.  It's even more important that I feel I'm not getting into a potentially bad situation.  And if I'm too nervous, the visit won't go well for either of us, even if everything is legit.
I'm not sure I blame the provider for not screening better to make ME feel comfortable...I guess everyone has their own methods.  Hopefully, she is verifying *something* though, for HER sake if not mine.  I can't imagine that a provider would choose to not verify a new client.  How does she know that it won't be LE showing up at her door if she isn't careful about who she invites over?   I'm brand new to the world of escorts, but I get the impression that good providers are successful and stay in business because they minimize risk.  If providers are careless, they are inviting trouble, for themselves and their clients.

Like an idiot, it dawned on me after starting this thread, that she did have my phone number from my initial call to her (duh!) -- so I suppose she could have run a check on that and gotten some info on me that way.  That's likely the "magical, mystical" way to screen me that others were referring to.  :)   So, maybe she did do some screening after all.  But there were enough other factors about this situation that made me uneasy, and I decided to cancel.  There are plenty of other providers out there -- I'll keep looking and find the right situation to start out with.

I only use a hobby phone and don't expect my work cell or personal cell.  No land line either.
