When I call them, their caller id displays the wrong city.  I used to live in the wrong city, and my cell phone number is assigned to that city, so their caller id shows it.  The wrong city is about 2 hours away.  Is that a problem for providers?  Stupid verizon.

maybe it's just as well it's not accurate.  These days, people can keep their old numbers when they move, transfer them to other phones or carriers...  pretty meaningless these days.  I thought everyone knew that now.

Many providers see gents that live all over the US.You having a phone# that is in a town 2hrs away from you I do not see that being a problem.I know a gent that is from back east and he has a vegas hobby phone#.
Many gents I see live in one city but have a phone# that might be from another coast where they used to live and never switched the number to their new city.As long as he can pass screening I do not think an out of town number is a big deal.

You'd have to make the change thru Verizon to correct it but that would most likely require a new number... As the other poster said, who cares and it's no big deal these days...
