Hello there. I am relatively new and I was wondering how you gals out there screen your clients?
I have been using a system like spokeo in order to cross reference numbers/names/emails etc. Not to be nosy but to be sure that I'm not likely putting myself into danger.
Do you ask for a license to do a background check?
do you ask for references?
please throw some ideas at me :)

Also, currently I am only available outcall. If I were to start with incall, what is your opinion on a good location? I was thinking of renting a studio apartment, this also has it's pros and cons. You get the privacy you want but what if your neighbors are ridiculously nosy?
Hotels are nice but expensive and can create their own problems.

Thanks for your input.

lest LE be tipped off to how you operate.

You can find some useful information, however, on the Self Help Manual which is linked on this page.

Another issue your going to have asking providers for help is that any provider worth her salt is going to want to also screen YOU. It is for their safety to know that you are who you say. I know a very well reputed provider who told me just that herself. She was trying to get into the buisness and sent a message to another provider who's only reply was to send her to the screening form. Best of luck getting the information your looking for.

who is willing to correspond with you privately or use the provider only board...  but no public forum is safe from LE or possibly even clients who would seek to "beat your system".

this newbie board & there are some interesting pieces on the legal board though mixed in with other topics.
Hotels vary...  you do not want mtel layout with doors that open directly to the outside...  too easy to be staked out.  You need to change hotels & rooms fairly often at typical locations.  You would want somewhere with enough traffic that clients could blend in.
Appartments are best in large buildings with a lot of traffic...  maybe a common entrance (high traffic) and people who MYBO (Mind Your Own Business).   You do not want to share a location as the increase in traffic increases the risk.
In general, you don't want to work from where you sleep.  A lot of reasons for this.  LE & stalkers top the list.  A lot of part timers (soccer mom's) get busted by neighbor's complaints.  Exception:  if you are low traffic & have a cover story...  I know one lady who has a legit home business which she supplements by providing occasionally.  I park in the designated business space.   A home based business can cause all sorts of problems with business licences, zoning, building requirements, fire alarms depending on your community.
You should have a business phone & email not linked to your main accounts.  You should be in control of when you take calls & not.  Since you can get phones with almost any area code...  it's common practice here to use a nearby code.

The first step is what you are doing...  read and learn everything you can up front.
