Hey Sky
I'm pretty much a noob to all this myself, saw my first provider of any type in December and now I've seen 7-8. Was in the newbie forum looking for advice myself when I saw this discussion and thought I would add to it with some things I had to learn along the way.
The advice here from Harborview and Johnny is really solid. I have been doing just about all they have said and will probably start doing the other things and you should follow it too. I would add a few other things, all of which I know those two know but probably didn't say because it's just seems too obvious.
My biggest advice would be to be patient and pay attention, and at least until you have your feet under you and can read the vip reviews, stick with providers with lots of good reviews here, as someone else said. I don't know what, besides TER, you use to find providers, but read ads. Lots of them! Don't just call the first girl whose pics make you horny. Personally, I spent untold hours over many days reading BP adds and cross checking with TER before I ever contacted a provider. You read BP enough and you start to get an idea for what the red flags are. How often does she post and what time of day? Does she change her age and location like she changes underwear? Is there a whole sentence in the add that just makes no sense and the rest of it filled with ludicrous typos? You do enough reading and you'll start looking at certain providers and asking yourself: if she doesn't take herself seriously, why should I?
Whatever sense you get of her from the add, check her out here and elsewhere. I don't know if you're VIP or not, but even if not, you can learn a good bit if you spend the time. God knows how many profiles I looked at as a basic member. The service as promised, on time and real pics questions can be answered and you can look at the general details section. Really, the best you can hope to learn there is whether the reviewer would repeat, but if a couple seasoned reviewers say they would go back, that's a good sign. If hardly anyone says they would, big red flag. If you think you really like a girl but she just doesn't have enough reviews to make you comfortable or her general reviews seem mixed, put her on a list to check out once you have vip. She may get more reviews in the meantime anyways.
I really feel this place is the best place for info and I wouldn't call anybody without looking here, but there are other sources, especially if you're a basic member right now. You are on the right track to look in the ad for things like her preferred method of contact. If you see any providers with a website, read it thoroughly. A lot of BP ads say little or nothing about details such as preferred contact, hours of availability, general area of town or even a name, but then all that is on her website. Don't start off on the wrong foot by asking questions she already answered on her website. Also, obviously, just the fact she has an intelligent, well written and maintained website is a good sign, but go deeper. Paste the address into google and check out the Whois report. How long has she had the domain? How many times has it been modified or moved around? Is it expired?
Just google the phone numbers. You'll find other review sites. This gets tricky because most of it will be click bait. Sites that copy-pasted her ad and the TER general details to get you to go there so they can throw ads for porn at you. Still, if you watch for details you can learn. You should at least get an idea for how long she's been advertising. If it seems like the first time she posted anywhere was last week and you can't find her on here, I would stay away for a while, especially being a noob as I won't necessarily recognize red flags upon arrival. A lot of times you find old ads, look at the pics and try to decide if it's the same girl. Or, if she's used the same pics for two years, that might not be good. Doesn't prove she's a bad provider, but it may not be good. A couple providers have told me the absolute longest they would use the same pics is six months. One, whom I saw in early January, said something about really needing to get new pics taken because the ones in her ad were getting old. They were from November. Don't get me wrong, a lot of very good providers may keep the same pics on their ads for a long time. It's not that old pics are a bad sign and you should move on, just that occasionally bringing in fresh pics, if they're of the same lady of course, is a good sign. As Harborview said, reverse image search is also a powerful tool here.
On the other hand, maybe you find a bunch of different women associated with one phone number. Maybe it's an agency. Not a bad thing in and of itself, but if the ad said she was independent, I see it as a bad thing. Or, maybe you'll end up making the second call and get turn by turn directions to a MP. You need to know whether you're okay with that. Personally, I don't think I could unwind in that setting and in my town it's where the LE attention has been anyway.
You can start with providers that offer FBSM. I could be wrong, but I feel like there's a lower chance of bumping into LE that way. I think the providers feel the same way, because they seem to require less in terms of references, generally speaking. If you go to a lady who advertises "full body rub" or "sensual massage", if you check her out on here first you're going to have a great time and leave happy. Keep in mind that a lot of them will offer a lot more, up to full service, once they know you on return visits, maybe first visit if they get a good vibe from you. Once you have a handful of intelligent, fair reviews written, if there is a provider you feel totally comfortable with based on her reviews but she wants references of some kind from you, you can give her your handle. She'll pm you here to make sure. Won't be enough for every provider but it has worked for me.
Given your experience with the crowded driveway in a bad part of town, I agree with Keystone. Maybe try to adjust your price range up a bit, at least for now. If the girl and the price seem too good to be true, they're not. If you have to save up a bit, so be it. Quality beats quantity and quality ain't usually cheap.
Well, I hope at least some of this has been helpful, I know it was probably too long winded. If it all seemed painfully obvious, don't be insulted, I was just thinking who knows who might stumble across this later.
