I'm a provider and new on TER, so I apologize if this is in the wrong section, but I'm in NYC and the hobbyist is as well...

I had a hobbyist contact me, and after discussing the fee for an hour of my companionship, and sending him pics, he changed his tune and said he was actually getting over back surgery but would like to continue talking to me. I've had guys in the past essentially cyber sex with me via text/email and then disappear, so now I don't invest considerable carnal energy in a client before there is an appointment. I was sweet and polite and told him to feel better and contact me when he was ready to meet up.

Then he told he "had an idea" and that I should come over for 2-3 hours of "play" in exchange for a good review!! I was/am shocked. Is that common on TER? This is a whitelist member, and I'm very disappointed. I want my reviews to be honest, I do not buy them in exchange for free sessions.

Has anyone had this experience? Any advice on how to handle this? I already declined politely but I am very annoyed, and a bit fearful that he might retaliate if he doesn't get what he wants. Is there a way to flag hobbyists?

Let the other ladies know about him  on your local board. Fair is fair and the other ladies need to know about his little shtick for getting a free session. I doubt he has a back injury as well.

...he knows good reviews help you so he figures he'll try it and see if you go for it. It has to have been successful in the past. You already refused to see him so leave it at that. Don't communicate with him anymore. Save the previous communications. If he writes a bad review in retaliation you can let TER know what happened and let them see the communications he had with you to prove your case. They would then have cause to remove the review.  

H+T gave good advice. Let ladies know on your regional board. Don't name him just tell them to PM or e-mail you if they want to know who. Don't get into a back and forth with anyone on the boards about whether your story is true or not. You won't win that even if you're right. Be very low key about it. Hopefully it won't go any further.

I meant to add no naming just that he tried to pull a fast one and how he went about it. And great advice about not getting into it with anyone on the board.

It's outrageous.  Put him on ignore.  There's no excuse for bad behavior.  What an Ass.

Kudos to you for holding out. I know A LOT of girls who'd love to get his email address from you, lol. Sadly, this type of thing is really common in NYC.  

Don't let anybody (hobbyist or provider) tell you that doing this, even just once or twice, is necessary to succeed, or that it is a step in establishing yourself (I got told that...such BS!!). Business comes from treating clients well. Some of your clients WILL leave honest reviews (some might be very positive, some might not be as positive as you'd like...that happens to everybody). If you have generally good reviews, and lots of regular clients, an odd 7 (or even a 5 or 2) won't hurt your business one bit.

Another poster advised you to warn others on the local board...I wouldn't do that. He probably won't retaliate now, but if you expose him publicly, he might. He might even post a fake negative review.

There are private sites for providers only, on which you can  post this guy's information. That way, other girls can avoid him. If you have PM priviliges, you can PM me for the site's URL...definitely a good place to be a member. But concerning pubic forums (like this one, or your public board), the best advice I can give you is advice that was given me: "Just keep to yourself, see your clients, and stay out of the fray."  

You will be contacted by A LOT of guys like him. Some will be a bit more subtle and suave, but they will be after you, especially when you're new.

TER can be a land mine which will take you time to learn to negotiate. You'll need to crank up your spidey senses which in time most providers do. On the scammers and time wasters, you'll need how to move on quickly, even though you desire reviews.
