I have tried contacting a few providers some independent and some from a service. Both have asked me to give them referrals or a "handle". This is my first time so I don't have any referrals and I don't know what a "handle" is. I'm sure it's some kind of verification to make sure I'm not a cop but how do I get one?

Can someone help out this newbie?

referring to your TER handle or P411 or Date Check ID. You need to ask them which handle are they referring to.

They probably want to check out if you have any reviews written, which you clearly don't.

I would suggest you that you open a Date-Check or P411 account and get verified, and then provide that to the ladies. There are quite a few newbie friendly ladies that will accept someone who is new...

Once you start hobbying you can ask the ladies to give you "nods" (as they are called) on these verification sites to as to make booking future appointments easier. Also you can submit reviews.

Good luck..

By referrals, they are likely asking for fellow provider references....impossible if you haven't seen one.  When you sign up for P411, you get an ID.

I would start with getting referred on one of the sites.  I did with P411 and it was a snap.  Very discreet.  They do their jobs well.

My recommendation is to get a VIP membership here so you can have access to all the information.  You'll probably need to start with someone who is newbie friendly (it will often be mentioned on their P411 profile).  Tell them you are a newbie and ask them for specifics as to what they need (as curly said).  Be as specific and to the point as possible, but also respectful.  Ladies are busy and they have to work through a LOT of e-mails, etc.

For me, I made my first experience with a sensual massage gal.  She did not require references and she did not even verify me through P411.  BUT, she was a VERY well reviewed lady and I talked to someone via PM who had just seen her.  So I knew she was safe.  And I know I'm safe.  Was a little surprised she was so easy to schedule....but that's her choice. I knew everything was going to be fine.

As you see a provider, ask them (after the date in an e-mail as you don't want to make her uncomfortable if she wants to say "no") if they would be willing to be a reference to other providers.

And read the self help center (life preserver at the top of the site).  It takes some time to digest, but all the information you need is here.

I will add that you should read the Self Help Center.  It has lots of valuable information for newbies.  Joining one or more or the verification sites is a real good idea for you.  It's better to give up some personal information to a couple of sites than to give it out to a bunch of providers.

Thanks so much for the info provided here. As a newbie, I first joined here at TER and then followed advice I read here. My first attempt to join a verification site (Date Check, I think) was a no-go. They stated early in the registration process that they couldn't verify retirees. But I'm happy to say that Preferred 411 DOES provide a way to handle this and I'm awaiting their response now. Again, thanks so much for the invaluable tips - I hope to be reviewing soon!

I am in the same boat as you, just learned about the hobby and want to participate.  I'm seeing some great providers I want to make appointments with, but most want to see some kind of verification.  I was wondering, will providers accept massage parlors for references?

I'm very hesitant to providing information to a verification site...
