No reference provider...

Ok, I'm going to post this knowing this question has probably arisen before - but here goes...

There's a local provider I found while surfing an out of state provider website.  She makes me randy.  She's here in my state but doesn't make any attempt to advertise locally (that I'm aware of).

Here's the rub...I can't find any reviews.  Her website is listed with other escort weblistings out of state, but no reviews here or BigDoggie etc.

I asked her about it - and she said she's too busy with her own website and emails from clients - but she said "feel free to look around".

I haven't yet asked for a reference - but I think that's the next step.

What do the ladies and hobbyists online make of this?  Seems kinda odd to me?

Sometimes it takes almost a year to start getting reviews...Maybe post on your city board and ask if anyone has ever heard of her.

That thought occurred to me.  Maybe ask other providers...

Other thoughts?

Does anybody think requesting outcall would help decrease the liklihood of a *sting*?

I've always thought outcall was safer but there arte some that will disagree. There was a recent bust in my area. LE put a hidden camera outside the location for 6 months. Smile you are on the 6 o'clock news Not to mention the credit card slips and the hard drive Rarely does LE pick a specific Indy to go after itr's not cost efficient just my .02

I asked for areas/zip codes where she has been before - and I still cannot find anything.

So, I can't find out anything about the provider.  She has no references on the net.  She says shes out of her usual "home range" to care for a relative.  She wants 50% upfront to confirm an appt.

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a scam...but sounds to me like I should steer clear....

NEVER send a deposit.  Repeat, NEVER send a deposit.

You have been skirting with the 'send me the money' scam. Thank her for her time and find somebody with reviews. In fact, post her web site link, so we can make sure it's not a new variation - there are many out there already - most use an easily-recognizable template for their web site.

Let me guess...  She's extremely attractive, has a bunch of model-quality photographs on her site, several of which are quite revealing, offers a LOT of services at a pretty reasonable although higher-end price, she has no contact information on her site (no email, no phone), requires you to fill out a contact form on her site, and then emails you with specifics on how to 'send me the money'. When you start questioning her or suggesting protective actions (like requesting a client reference or wanting to send the money via U.S. Mail to an actual address),  she gets beligerent and suddenly that's the end of the email conversations. Which is the exact same result you get if you DO send her the money.

Run like hell, and be thankful that you finally mentioned '50% deposit' in one of your posts here.

I agree. The 50% deposit would be a dealkiller to me. It gives her every reason to not show up at all. Why should she take the risks just to get only half of what she's expecting to get paid?

Everytime I believe one gender is more gullible than the other, somebody comes along to change my mind. Guys can sometimes be so stupid when it comes to women and gals can be so stupid sometimes when it comes to men. When reality slaps you in the face, you go "what the hell was I thinking?" Most of us have been there at some point - wanting so badly for something to be true that we ignore all the warning signs.

Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh....I see said the blind man.

I thought it was a scam.  Hell, its a good enough an idea I could probably do it just as well as a woman could...in which case...maybe it was a woman.

Thanks folks!  I'm glad I trusted my intuition on this one...

She basically says something to that effect on her "confirm" page...

Check it out...

Whenever there is mention of a provider asking for a deposit, a lively debate often ensues - there have been numerous threads on the topic over the years.

I generally disagree with absolutes, and I do think that atl_mgr's advice of "NEVER send a deposit. Repeat, NEVER send a deposit" is a bit too absolute.

Rather than restate my views on the subject, I'll just add a link to a post of mine from eons ago. My views have not changed in the intervening year and a half.

That said, in the particular case about which luvdamuff enquires, I certainly think that atl_mgr's advice is spot on. This lady meets neither of my two criteria for giving a deposit, and there is no way in hell that I would.

Thanks Hyabby, and you are correct, of course.  Good link; I've read that thread (and simlar ones) before, and have stated what you said elsewhere myself.

I know of at least two or three well-reviewed, well-known, and well-respected ladies that I would feel relatively safe in sending a pre-appointment deposit, although there is always some risk involved. They (unlike the scammers) use deposits to cut down on the number of no-show appointments made by prospective clients, since there is a financial penalty for doing so.

But as advice for Newbies (and that IS where we are, after all), having an absolute 'never' rule is the safest choice to avoid getting ripped-off, by far.  Once they gain considerable experience, well... then it becomes a matter of risk management and personal choice.

Thanks for your input.

That certainly sheds light on your situation. Gives me really mixed signals. If she's a scammer, she sure does a hell of a job putting together a website.

I do think the deposit request is legit because she give options on how to pay it that seem very well thought-out, not the way I'd expect a scammer to do it.

I am still a bit leery of someone who talks about the risks she is taking but also provides picture after picture of her full face.

I also noticed she describes herself as "slender" yet the girl in all the pictures doesn't seem that slender to me.

The rates are not excessive, particularly multiple hours and "never any extra charge to visit Greece" so either she really loves uzo or she gives great discounts.

I think if it were me in your shoes, I'd pass her by unless she came with some great reviews. But YMMV. It sure is a risk. Seems a bit too much like "If you think it's too good to be true..."
